Spectra v0.2.0 adds a base URL that you set once per spec, so endpoints no longer need the server typed into every request.

Highlights:

  • New Base URL field in the request panel, between Method and the path. It applies to every endpoint in the loaded spec.
  • The Base URL fills in when a spec loads. For OpenAPI 3 it comes from servers, with {variable} placeholders set to their defaults; the first server is selected and the rest are in the dropdown. For Swagger 2 it is built from scheme://host/basePath, preferring https. Relative server URLs resolve against the spec's URL.
  • Selecting an endpoint now fills in only its path. The field is labelled "Path or full URL", and a full http(s):// URL there, such as one restored from history, ignores the base.
  • If the base URL is missing or relative, Send says so and moves focus to the Base URL field, instead of showing a "No scheme supplied" error.
  • The status message after a spec loads names the selected base URL.
