OrionBE Launcher v0.5.0
Built-in ProxyPass
- Sign in with Microsoft/Xbox using device code and access online Bedrock servers through the local ProxyPass.
- Updated RakNet/Bedrock relay for Minecraft 1.26.42 (protocol 2168).
- Optional ProxyPass diagnostics terminal with copyable logs.
- Your local profile now syncs the Xbox gamertag and avatar after sign-in.
Linux
The attached AppImage is a self-contained, single-file build. Download it, mark it as executable, and run it.
v0.4.2
Bedrock version catalog (Add instance)
- Loading state while game versions are fetched, instead of an empty combo box.
- Clear error panel when the catalog cannot be loaded, with Retry, View error, and Copy error for support reports.
- Timeout hint in the copyable report when the failure looks like a network timeout (often broken IPv6 on Linux).
Networking fixes (Linux)
- HTTP clients now use an IPv4-first connect path and a 30s connect timeout, avoiding long hangs when IPv6 routes are broken (e.g.
curlworks but .NET timed out after 120s). - Linux curl fallback for the small Bedrock version JSON when
HttpClientfails with transient network errors.
Hub
- Fixed “Call from invalid thread” when refreshing Hub UI after navigation.
Documentation
- README troubleshooting section for catalog failures, cache path, and
DOTNET_SYSTEM_NET_DISABLEIPV6=1.
v0.4.1
Instance Bedrock upgrade
- Progress bar and status text while an instance is updating in Instance settings.
- Actions blocked during upgrade: Back, delete instance, import mods, save LeviLamina version, and mod enable/disable toggles stay disabled until the update finishes (Open in file manager still works).
- Player data preserved: before replacing
game/, the launcher backs upMinecraft Bedrock/Users/(worlds, addons, options.txt, etc.) to a temporary folder under the instance, then restores it after the new package is extracted. If the upgrade fails after the game folder was wiped, it attempts to restore from that backup. - After a successful update: confirming the success dialog returns to the Instances list with the refreshed version on the card, ready to Play — the launcher no longer stays on settings or exit unexpectedly.
Technical
- Centralized Bedrock player-data path via
BedrockGameLayout.ResolveUsersDirectory; launch-timeoptions.txtpatching uses the same helper. - Localized status strings for backup/restore steps (
en-US/pt-BR).
v0.4.0
Visual refresh (focus of this release)
- Multi-language UI: switch between English and Portuguese (Brazil) at runtime; strings ship as JSON under
I18n/and drive the whole shell, launcher screens, and localized Hub news files. - GitHub: button in the top-right of the window opens
https://github.com/OrionBedrock/OrionLauncher. - Updating existing instances: in Instance settings, upgrade Bedrock to the latest build in the same channel (stable vs preview) when an update is available from the catalog.
- Reformulated launcher shell: dark sidebar navigation (Hub, Instances, Mods), profile strip at the top, and settings at the bottom.
- Hub hero area uses the wallpaper full-bleed behind content; OrionBE logo (
Assets/logo.png) is shown centered at the top with proportional scaling. - News / changelog panel remains below the Play row with Markdown rendering.
Profile
- Local launcher profile replaces Microsoft / Xbox sign-in: nickname (short), optional message under the nickname (character limit enforced in the editor), and custom avatar copied into
~/OrionBE/cache. - Profile editor screen (avatar preview, pick/remove photo, save / back).
Technical
- Sidebar and profile avatars load via Avalonia
Bitmapfrom disk (Stretch.Uniforminside rounded clips) for reliable display on Linux. - Removed MSAL / Microsoft Identity Client and related OAuth-only code paths.
Repository migration (temporary)
- The project is undergoing a gradual migration of folder layout and code organization. Until that work settles, some areas may look inconsistent or confusing—thanks for bearing with us.
