Updated guides and consistent installation instructions for DeepCanary, the local task-attention inbox for DeepSeek Harness.

What's improved

• Refreshed English and Simplified Chinese READMEs are now included in the npm package, with clear navigation, update/removal instructions, troubleshooting FAQs, and acknowledgments.
• Installation guidance consistently covers the default channel, preview channel, fixed versions, and DSH source checkouts.
• Contributor tooling checks installed dependencies against the lockfile, selects version-specific frozen artifacts, and guards against accidentally repacking a published version.

Runtime behavior is unchanged from RC5, apart from the reported plugin version. Existing RC5 installations do not need an urgent upgrade for a runtime fix.

Install or update

With DSH installed and available in your terminal:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-deepcanary@latest
dsh web

For a fixed installation, use dsh-deepcanary@0.1.1-rc.6 or the attached .tgz. npm latest and next select RC6. Existing installations are not updated automatically; finish active tasks before restarting DSH.

Compatibility and limits

DSH 0.1.2-alpha.5 remains the build/CI baseline. DSH 0.1.3-alpha.1 has separate earlier compatibility coverage. The host requires Node.js 22.19+ within the 22.x line, or Node 24 and newer.

This remains a prerelease. Persistent Supervisor is experimental and off by default. Earlier Windows/Edge notification observations remain attributed to RC4; RC6 does not add new desktop-device, WSL2, or long-duration qualification. See compatibility.

For new installations, use 0.1.1-rc.6, which includes the refreshed bilingual guides and installation guidance. This historical release remains available for reproducibility.

• Clearer installation, privacy, compatibility, and contribution guidance.
• More natural panel and settings text; suspected stalls are described as uncertainty, not confirmed failure.
• Fixed experimental Supervisor shutdown when a startup or standby retry is still in flight.
• Fixed cross-platform test paths and locked-toolchain build validation.
• Added package documentation-link and publication-integrity checks.

Install or upgrade

This remains a prerelease. The command below pins RC5 exactly; use dsh-deepcanary@latest to select the current default. See the newer release linked above for current installation guidance.

With an existing DSH Web installation:

Finish active tasks before restarting DSH. Open the new address printed in your terminal, then select DeepCanary in the sidebar. The attached tarball can be passed to the same installation command in place of the package name.

Compatibility and limits

• Requires Node.js 22.19+ within the 22.x line, or Node 24 and newer. DSH 0.1.2-alpha.5 is the build and CI baseline.
• The DSH 0.1.3-alpha.1 public contract and types are checked separately. Its WebUI and Windows/Edge desktop-notification observations remain RC4 coverage, not new RC5 device tests.
• Browser notifications need DSH and the web page to remain running, with browser and OS permission. The Inbox remains available without desktop notification permission.
• Persistent Supervisor remains experimental and off by default. This is a prerelease, not a Stable promotion.

Verification boundary

The Ubuntu-26.04 alpha.5 isolated npm runtime installation did not complete in this run, so the release receipt keeps the WSL alpha.5 gate pending and preserves earlier WSL evidence as historical. Operating-system Toast/Notification Center and physical-device accessibility checks remain separate developer-observed evidence gates.
