Pre-release🚀 v1.0.0-beta.1 - Initial Android Beta Release
We are excited to share the very first public beta release of Recurrly for Android! This release brings our full-stack subscription management platform directly to your mobile device to help you track recurring expenses, monitor active services, and stay ahead of upcoming billing dates.
✨ What's Included in This Build
- Subscription Dashboard: A centralized, native mobile interface powered by NativeWind to track all your recurring payments at a glance.
- Active & Inactive Tracking: Easily toggle and categorize subscriptions to identify unused services.
- Secure Authentication: Integrated sign-in and session management powered by Clerk.
- Product Analytics: Integrated PostHog tracking to help us monitor performance and squash bugs based on real usage.
⚠️ A Quick Heads-Up About Your Data
For this early test version, the app is currently running on sample or "fake" data to show you how everything looks and works. It isn't hooked up to a live database or pulling your real account information just yet, so feel free to tap around and test everything out completely risk-free!
📥 How to Install the Android App (ZIP Workaround)
Follow these simple steps to install it on your device:
- Download the ZIP file (
recurrly.zip) from the Assets section below onto your Android phone or computer. - Extract/Unzip the archive:
- On Android: Use your device's built-in My Files app, Files by Google, or an app like RAR/ZArchiver to tap and extract the ZIP file.
- On PC/Mac: Extract the ZIP file on your computer, then transfer the extracted APK file to your phone via USB or Google Drive.
- Locate the extracted
.apkfile and tap it to begin installation. - Handle Google Play Protect Warnings:
- When you attempt to open the APK, Google Play Protect or Android's package installer may trigger a security warning stating "App isn't signed by Google" or "Install blocked / Unsafe app" because this is a sideloaded test build rather than a Play Store download.
- Tap "More details" (or the small arrow/link) on the warning screen, then select "Install anyway" to proceed.
- Allow Unknown Sources: If prompted by your system, temporarily allow your file manager or browser to "Install from unknown sources".
- Open Recurrly and log in or set up your account!
