Configuration
config/dreambound.properties, created on first launch. Edits apply after /dreambound reload or a restart.
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
enableBedSleepSnapshots |
true |
Save a snapshot after a successful bed sleep |
enableRespawnAnchorLogic |
true |
Save a snapshot when binding your spawn to a charged respawn anchor |
allowDaytimeCheckpoint |
false |
Let players refresh the snapshot by right-clicking the bed their spawn is already set to, during the day, without sleeping |
allowDaytimeCheckpoint is worth considering. Vanilla only lets you sleep at night or in a thunderstorm, so without it there is no way to check in before dusk — gear up in the morning and the kit you are carrying cannot be saved until the day is over. Turning it on removes that dead time. Leaving it off keeps "get home before dark" as real pressure.
It only ever works on the bed you are already bound to, so a checkpoint still belongs to a place.
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
containerAwareMatching |
true |
Look inside shulker boxes and bundles rather than treating a container whose contents changed as a different item |
restoreExperience |
true |
Restore XP up to what you had in the dream |
experienceLossPercent |
0 |
Percentage of otherwise-restored XP lost on death. 0 keeps all of it, 100 keeps none |
experienceLossPercent is the main difficulty dial. A value like 10 or 25 makes dying cost something even when your gear is safe.
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
clearSnapshotOnRespawn |
false |
Clear the snapshot once it has been used |
clearSnapshotOnSpawnpointDestroyed |
true |
Clear the snapshot when its bed or anchor is destroyed, or when an anchor runs out of charges after a respawn |
clearSnapshotOnRespawn=true makes every checkpoint single-use: you must sleep again after each death. Considerably harsher, and a good fit for a hardcore-leaning server.
clearSnapshotOnSpawnpointDestroyed is what keeps a checkpoint tied to a place. Turning it off means a snapshot outlives the bed that made it.
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
notifySnapshotSaved |
true |
Message when a snapshot is saved |
notifyRespawnRestore |
true |
Message when items are restored on respawn |
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
enableUniversalGravesCompat |
true |
Integrate with Universal Graves when installed |
enableOhmegaCompat |
true |
Include Ohmega accessory slots in the snapshot |
debugUniversalGravesCompat |
false |
Log every grave decision. Verbose; for diagnosing grave problems only |
Trinkets Updated support has no toggle — it is active whenever Trinkets is installed.
If the file cannot be read, Dreambound logs a warning, runs on defaults for that session, and leaves your file alone. It will not overwrite a config it failed to parse. Fix the file and run /dreambound reload.
On a successful load the file is rewritten so that new keys appear with their defaults after an update. Comments in the file are Dreambound's own; your own comments will not survive.
