VOSK Dictation is an offline Russian speech-to-text utility for X11 desktops. It runs in the system tray. Hold the left Alt key for about 1.2 seconds to start recording; hold it again to stop and insert the recognized text into the focused field.

This release packages the Kali-tested v1.2.1 build with valid English AppStream metadata. The metadata fixes the XML parsing error seen in the AppImage catalog check. The speech recognition code is unchanged.

Verified on Kali Linux 2026.2: recording, recognition, and text insertion into Mousepad. Audio playback was checked in the regular Kali user session. Full dictation on Linux Mint has not been re-tested for this release.

Run: chmod +x VOSK_Dictation-1.2.2-x86_64.AppImage && ./VOSK_Dictation-1.2.2-x86_64.AppImage. If FUSE is unavailable, use --appimage-extract-and-run.
