VOSK Dictation is an offline Russian speech dictation utility for X11 desktops. It runs in the system tray and inserts recognized speech into the focused text field.

Download VOSK_Dictation-1.2.3-r2-x86_64.AppImage. Revision r2 allows startup and dictation when notify-send is unavailable. If installed, desktop notifications remain enabled; an unavailable notification service does not stop the application. Sound cues are unchanged.

The package uses gzip-compressed SquashFS, includes the required .DirIcon link, readable/executable permissions and English AppStream metadata.

Validation: successful mounting with AppImageHub’s official runtime-fuse2-x86_64; appdir-lint.sh reports no fatal issues; embedded metadata converts successfully with AppImageHub’s appstreamcli. Both notification functions were checked with notify-send absent, and startup was checked with an unavailable D-Bus session. Recording, recognition and text insertion were previously tested in Kali Linux 2026.2. Linux Mint has not been verified.
