Release list
v1.3.3
Fixed
- Keyboard zones one place off on 1.3.2 - back to the order HP's colour table actually uses, and the zones are drawn where they light (#87, #65)
- Fans stuck high after gaming - once the NVIDIA GPU went to sleep, its last temperature kept driving the fan curve until a restart (#95)
- Ramp delay now holds the fans off for the set time before they start, instead of only slowing the climb (#92)
- Fans the firmware won't take - a board that refuses fan speeds is remembered, so with the driver they switch over at once instead of after about 6 minutes (#93)
- GPU power missing on some 2025 boards when the firmware didn't answer at startup - it's asked again (#91)
- Curve header - the hint no longer runs into the CPU / GPU switch (#89)

v1.3.2
New
- Delete benchmark runs - hover a run in Runs and click the bin twice (#85)
Fixed
- Keyboard zones in the wrong place on the Transcend 14 and OMEN 16 8E35 - the app now takes the zone order from HP's own lighting driver, so colours, breathe and wave land where the app shows them (#87)
- Wave flows across the keyboard left to right instead of jumping between zones
- 48 Hz that didn't switch - no button below 60 Hz on screens that have 60, and a saved 48 moves to 60 (#81)
- Fan control lost for a session when one EC read timed out at start - it's asked again before giving up (#87)

Ohman 1.3.1
New
- Fans held by the firmware - when the laptop's firmware keeps the fans at its own speed and ignores the curve, Ohman now says so instead of showing the curve as normal. Switching modes usually frees them
- Desktops - left fully alone, with a banner saying they aren't supported
Fixed
- Fans taken back after quitting - a fan or guard tick that was already queued could undo the hand-back to the firmware on exit
- Per-key colour reset only runs on the keyboards it was written for (thanks @Artemisdevv, #80)
- Support report - refresh rate changes are logged and read back, the panel's rates are listed, and unsupported boards no longer show a placeholder profile

Ohman 1.3.0
New
- Benchmark - press Ctrl+Alt+R in a game, or Start on the new Benchmark page. Ohman waits until your temps settle, then measures for 30 s, 1 or 3 minutes
- The numbers - average FPS, 1% and 0.1% lows, frame times and stutter, same definitions as CapFrameX, with CPU and GPU temps, power, clocks and fans for the same seconds
- Every run kept - compared against your last run of the same game in the same mode, with a history per game and CSV export
- Share cards - Summary, Graphs or Square, any graph you pick, copy or save as PNG
- Overlay - a small pill over the game for warm-up, countdown and the result, switch it off in Settings
- Frame generation and frame caps - detected and noted on the run, so a capped 60 isn't read as your laptop's limit
Frames come from Intel's PresentMon 2.6.0, downloaded on first use and checked against its hash and Intel's signature before every run. How each number is worked out: docs/benchmark.md
Fixed
- On-screen flash catching clicks meant for the window under it

v1.2.4
New
- Per-key lighting on more OMEN 16 and Transcend 16 keyboards (2022-2024), untested on hardware so far
- White-only keyboards are recognised and the keyboard page hides itself, Settings brings it back
Fixed
- Fans pulsing with the lid closed or the screen off: the laptop's own fan control takes over until the screen is back (#68)
- Fan top speed stuck too low (4300 instead of 5700 on one Victus): learned while the fans were still speeding up, now corrects itself
- Lag spikes while gaming with Ohman open: the GPU is read in-process instead of starting nvidia-smi each time, and the firmware is asked less often (#72)
- Curve points jumping back when dragged below the slowest fan speed (#69)
- Update row offered a Download link while the update was already downloading (#58)
- A failed update check at boot no longer waits a day, and a download that hits a network hiccup retries once (#75, #70)
- Settings can't be left half-written by a crash, and waking from sleep while quitting can't take the fans back (#77, #67, #71, #76)
Laptops
8BB1(Victus 15-fa1xxx) verified by its owner. 26 boards now.
Thanks @vipulojha and @Artemisdevv for the PRs.

Ohman 1.2.3
Fixed
- Per-key keys lit the wrong key on the OMEN 17 (
8BAD) - right Ctrl lit<>and AltGr lit Menu. The keyboard page now draws the keyboard as it really is, P1-P6, Menu,<>, the Ins..PgDn block and full arrows, and each key lights only itself. Your colours carry over - Keyboard brightness reset to full on every start and mode change on boards where the Fn key sets it (
8EDE) - Fan top speed stuck low after replacing a fan on boards where Max runs as a fan level - Ohman now finds the real top again
- Fan curve points snapped back while dragging (
8912) - The support report shows why a per-key keyboard could not be lit, and no longer hides the model name when your Windows user is called "Victus" or "Omen"
Laptops
8C9C (Victus 16-s1), 8D2F (OMEN 16-am0) and 8912 (OMEN 16-c0) verified by their owners.

Ohman 1.2.2
New
- Per-key lighting on 2021-2024 OMEN 17 - Primax keyboards (
8BADand its siblings) now light per key from the keyboard page. OMEN 16 of the same years uses the same chip and should work too - Hide keyboard lighting - a switch in Settings for white-only backlights
Fixed
- Fans stuck at max after switching back to Auto on some boards (
8BCD,8C78) - CPU capped around 45 W on the OMEN 16-xd0 (
8BCD) - Ohman now sends OGH's own limits, 55 W and 60 W in Performance - "Set power failed" popping up every 45 s on boards whose firmware refuses power gain
- Start with Windows stopped working after downloading a new copy - it now follows the copy you run
- The driver's fan check reads both fans, and the support report no longer takes over the keyboard (thanks @vipulojha)
- Pavilion Gaming boards are no longer treated as an OMEN

Ohman 1.2.1
Fixed
- Fans stopped after quitting Ohman with max fan on, and OMEN Gaming Hub couldn't start them again. Quitting and Reset now hand the fans straight back to the firmware
- Max fan did nothing on some Victus boards (
8A26,8E5E), and neither did the thermal guard, which uses the same command. Ohman now notices when the firmware ignores it and drives the fans to the top itself - Max fan hotkey stuck on Max when the keys were held a little too long
- AltGr letters switched modes on Polish and other layouts (AltGr+E typed nothing and switched to Eco). They type again; left Ctrl+Alt still switches
- OMEN MAX 16 keyboards: the spacebar, the keys beside the numpad and Copilot stayed dark. They light with the keys next to them now. The keyboard also goes back to its own lighting when Ohman quits, so OMEN Gaming Hub can take it again
- Windows lighting taken from the wrong device: the light bar instead of the keyboard on MAX 16, and a plugged-in Logitech keyboard on an OMEN 17
- Ohman no longer wakes a sleeping NVIDIA GPU to read its temperature
- OMEN 15-en0 (
8786) uses the driver for fan speed from the start, like the878A - Max and the thermal guard also work through the driver on boards whose firmware refuses fan speeds
- Thermal guard switched off and on while engaged now starts clean (thanks @vipulojha)
- Report issue carries more of what's needed to fix things without back and forth
Laptops
8A25 and 8D87 verified by their owners.
Ohman 1.2
New
- Hotkeys you can change. Settings → pencil on the Hotkeys row, click a shortcut, press the keys. Esc keeps the old one, Backspace removes it. Keys another program already owns are shown in amber
- Thermal guard you can set. The rule reads as a sentence,
When CPU 95° or chassis 62° turn fans max for 1 min, and the pencil makes each value a choice
Fixed
- Fans only worked plugged in on the 2025 Transcend 14. On battery Ohman handed the fans to the firmware in every mode, and that firmware keeps them off until 74°. Now only in Auto; Manual, Curve and Max stay yours on battery
- No fan control on the OMEN 15-ek0xxx (878A) with the driver installed. The driver's check rejected the board over a temperature register it doesn't have
- The driver's fan route never came back after a run of controller timeouts
- nvidia-smi could hang the sensor loop (thanks @vipulojha)
- The thermal guard no longer turns max off and then fails to set a level on boards that refuse levels, never slows fans that are already faster, and escalates to max when the fans stop answering
- Twenty-six smaller findings from three review passes since 1.1.1
Laptops
8C76 verified by its owner. The driver's EC map is confirmed to fit the 2025 Transcend 14 (8E41).
Ohman 1.1.1
Fixes on top of 1.1. If you're on 1.1, update.
Fixed
- Thermal guard fired too easily. Engages at 95° CPU or 62° ambient now, releases below 85° and 54°
- Fan percentages wrong on unrecognised boards. Ohman assumed everyone's fans top out at 5700 rpm. It measures yours now, so leave them on max for ~20s and restart. This is also why Max looked like it did nothing
- CPU clock came from a Windows estimate. Comes from the CPU itself with the driver installed
- Idle wattage read high. Short bursts were dragging the average up, one of them Ohman itself
- Boards whose firmware refuses fan levels could lose the driver's fan route until restart after a run of EC timeouts
Laptops
8E35 and 8BC2 verified by their owners.
