Simple Live Variables - Version 1.0.0

I'm excited to announce the first release of Simple Live Variables, a streamlined plugin for Obsidian that brings dynamic variable functionality to your notes.

Features

  • Dynamic Variable Display: Automatically replaces variables in your text with their values, creating content that updates in real-time
  • In-place Variable Editing: Simply click on any variable in preview mode to edit its value directly
  • Quick Variable Insertion: Use the command palette to insert variables from your frontmatter with a searchable selection modal
  • Frontmatter Integration: All variables are stored in standard YAML frontmatter, making them compatible with other plugins
  • Smart Code Block Copying: When copying code blocks containing variables, the actual values are copied, not the variable syntax
  • Bilingual Support: Full interface available in both English and French
  • Customizable Appearance: Change delimiters, toggle variable highlighting, and choose custom colors

How It Works

Define variables in your frontmatter:

---
user: papamica
ip: 192.168.1.1
port: 22
---

Use them anywhere in your document with delimiters (default {{ and }}):

SSH connection: ssh -p {{port}} {{user}}@{{ip}}

When viewed in preview mode, this will display as:

SSH connection: ssh -p 22 papamica@192.168.1.1
