StatLite is a small, self-hosted metrics dashboard backed by SQLite for applications and VPS deployments. Version 0.7.0 adds native Caddy HTTP monitoring and improves CPU chart units and counter handling.
What is new in 0.7.0
Monitor HTTP traffic through Caddy
Enable Caddy's native
per_hostmetrics and configure one exact hostname percaddytarget. StatLite records requests, HTTP errors, and average response time without adding instrumentation to the upstream application. The Caddy guide covers same-server and private Docker setups, initial traffic, diagnostics, and supported routing boundaries. The supported contract is Caddy 2.11.4 with a conventional named HTTPS site and a direct reverse proxy. Collection UP means Caddy metrics can be collected; it does not establish upstream application health. Application runtime and dependency health remain unavailable for Caddy targets.
Counter continuity and CPU interpretation
Caddy history preserves known counter boundaries, leaving gaps at detected resets or source changes. JVM CPU utilization is displayed as a percentage, while Metrics v1 process CPU is displayed in cores. Historical samples with assumed units are explained, conflicting units are omitted, and host CPU counter boundaries are handled safely.
Clearer setup and metric documentation
First-time setup guidance and the public metric reference explain supported measurements, units, and monitoring limits. A public Caddy integration journey exercises host-isolated traffic collection.
Certification
The exact release candidate passed the Spring Boot 3/4 Actuator and Prometheus matrix, deprecated Spring configuration compatibility, Quarkus, Micronaut 5 and 4 contracts, historical SQLite upgrade and row-preservation checks, and rebased long-history stress with populated dashboard ranges and no HTTP failures. Browser and manual review covered target/range navigation and desktop/mobile layouts. Caddy 2.11.4 checks covered real HTTPS, controlled status codes, host isolation, stored traffic deltas, and a private Linux/Docker network with no published ports.
