Code of Conduct
The Pact Community Organization is committed to building a safe, welcoming, and collaborative environment for everyone.
Our mission is to make it easy and safe for businesses to start building with Pact, and that begins with how we treat each other.
This Code of Conduct applies to all Foundation spaces, including:
- GitHub repositories and Wikis
- Issues, pull requests, and discussions
- Community forums, chats, and meetings
- Any interaction under the Foundation’s name
By participating, you agree to uphold these standards.
Treat everyone with courtesy. Healthy debate is encouraged, but personal attacks or dismissive behavior is not.
We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, regardless of experience level, identity, or perspective.
We strive to communicate openly, share knowledge freely, and collaborate in good faith.
We provide a community where people feel comfortable asking questions, contributing, and learning.
Contributions should support the Foundation’s goal:
To make it easy and safe for businesses to start building with Pact.
Participants must:
- Act respectfully and professionally.
- Use welcoming and inclusive language.
- Assume good intent when interpreting feedback or discussions.
- Provide constructive feedback and accept constructive feedback gracefully.
- Follow project maintainers’ decisions and guidance.
- Stay focused on collaboration, not competition.
The following behaviors will not be tolerated:
- Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind.
- Discriminatory or insulting comments.
- Personal or political attacks.
- Threats or encouragement of violence.
- Deliberate disruption of discussions or collaboration.
- Posting malicious code, spam, or purposely misleading information.
- Sharing private information without consent (doxing).
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior:
- Report it directly to the Foundation maintainers through GitHub (Issues or Discussions), or
- Contact a maintainer privately if the issue is sensitive.
All reports will be handled discreetly and seriously.
Maintainers may take action that includes:
- Warning the offender
- Removing comments or blocking disruptive behavior
- Temporarily or permanently banning contributors
- Escalating to GitHub Trust & Safety for severe violations
Decisions made by Foundation maintainers are final.
The Code of Conduct may evolve as the Foundation grows.
Community feedback is welcome — this document will be improved collaboratively.
By contributing to the Pact Community Organization, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and help maintain a positive and productive community.
