PageBrick 1.1.1
- The "Continue" button of the panel is a real button. Under the steps of an install or an update (a theme, a plugin or PageBrick itself), "Continue" was a bare link. It is now a main button with an arrow, like the rest of the panel, in light and dark, and it takes the focus, so Enter goes on.
Update: sites on 1.0.1 or later set to "Automatic for fixes only" (the default) install this by themselves in the next few hours. To do it now: Settings → Updates → Update to 1.1.1.
New install: download pagebrick-1.1.1.zip below, upload what is inside its pagebrick folder to your hosting (including .htaccess), create a MySQL database and open the site. Requirements: PHP 8.2+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, Apache with mod_rewrite.
Integrity: SHA-256 0c66077d67907d91e24e357e20a1e70daaf10523ae8938f0eac36c6cf4e21918, signed with the project's Ed25519 key (public key in core/packages.php).
PageBrick 1.1.0
- A new, cleaner panel. A narrow bar of icons (Content, Plugins, Settings) with the screens of the section you are in beside it, and a header with only the PageBrick brick, the site's name and whether it is on the air, "View site", a bell for administrators (a new version, a plugin that was switched off) and the account menu. On a phone the bar and the list open from a button in the header. The dashboard shows how many pages are published and how many are drafts, how many files are in the media library and how many languages the site has, the pages edited last and shortcuts.
- Light, dark or the system's, chosen in the account menu with three icons (sun, moon and a computer screen). The system's is where everyone starts and it follows the computer on its own; the choice is kept with the account and never handed to the next person on a shared computer.
- A discreet bar at the bottom of the site, only for people signed in to the panel (visitors never get it, and nothing changes in what they receive): the PageBrick brick takes them back to the panel in the same tab, and there are quick actions: edit the page being seen, reload, a live view and the site in a phone-sized window. With the live view on, the page reloads by itself a few seconds after something is saved in the panel (a page, the contact details, a menu, a photo, the appearance, a blog post), unless someone is typing on it.
- "Appearance & contact" is now two screens. Contact stays under Content, for whoever edits the site, at the same address as before. Appearance (the site's name, logo, icon, color, font style and share image) moves to Settings and is for administrators only: editors can no longer change the look.
- Redone sign-in, forgot-my-password and new-password screens, in light or dark.
- Easier to use: a "skip to content" link, names and headings for screen readers, colors checked in both themes, and link-like buttons large enough to tap.
For developers: two new filters (additions to the API, nothing was removed or changed): admin_bar (return false to hide the bar of people signed in) and live_stamp (plugins add what they own to what the live view watches). A theme's setting group can ask for the Appearance screen with 'screen' => 'appearance'; without it, it stays in Contact, where it was. Nothing changes in the database or in what the site shows visitors, so going back to the previous version stays safe.
Update: in the panel, open Settings → Updates and click Update to 1.1.0. A version with new features is never installed on its own in the default setting: it waits for the click. PageBrick keeps a copy of the current version, checks every page with the new one and goes back by itself if anything breaks.
New install: download pagebrick-1.1.0.zip below, upload what is inside its pagebrick folder to your hosting (including .htaccess), create a MySQL database and open the site. Requirements: PHP 8.2+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, Apache with mod_rewrite.

PageBrick 1.0.6
- The page editor fits a phone's width. On a page with a rich text field, the toolbar of the text editor made the whole editor wider than the phone, and the browser zoomed the page out until the text was tiny. The editor now fits the screen (checked from 320 px up) and the toolbar buttons wrap.
Update: sites on 1.0.1 or later set to "Automatic for fixes only" (the default) install this by themselves in the next few hours. To do it now: Settings (gear) → Updates → Update to 1.0.6.
New install: download pagebrick-1.0.6.zip below, upload what is inside its pagebrick folder to your hosting (including .htaccess), create a MySQL database and open the site. Requirements: PHP 8.2+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, Apache with mod_rewrite.

PageBrick 1.0.5
- Plugins get their own icon in the top bar (a plug), apart from the gear. It lists the plugins' screens, for whoever each plugin allows. Editors can now use plugins (their screens and settings); only administrators install, switch on and off, update and delete them ("Manage plugins" in the same menu).
- Each person's preferences follow their account, in any browser: light or dark (new) and the panel's language. A new person starts in the site's language, and what a browser remembers is never handed to the next person who signs in on it.
- E-mails now leave from
no-reply@yourdomainunless a sender is set in Settings → E-mail. - The installer's language choices line up (the round button sat in the middle of each box).
- For plugin developers (API, only additions):
pb_http()makes a request to another service (https only, headers, optional POST body, size limit, and a way for tests to answer instead of the network).
Update: sites on 1.0.1 or later set to "Automatic for fixes only" (the default) install this by themselves in the next few hours. To do it now: Settings (gear) → Updates → Update to 1.0.5.
New install: download pagebrick-1.0.5.zip below, upload what is inside its pagebrick folder to your hosting (including .htaccess), create a MySQL database and open the site. Requirements: PHP 8.2+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, Apache with mod_rewrite.

PageBrick 1.0.4
- Themes and plugins install in steps you can watch: sending a .zip, updating or installing from the catalog shows each step as it happens (sending or downloading, checking the signature or the package, keeping a copy, installing and, when it's the one in use, opening every page with it). If a page breaks, the previous version is put back right there and the screen says why.
- Roll back always takes the newest copy, even when two were made in the same second.
Update: sites on 1.0.1 or later set to "Automatic for fixes only" (the default) install this by themselves in the next few hours. To do it now: Settings (gear) → Updates → Update to 1.0.4; on 1.0.3 the steps show as they happen.
New install: download pagebrick-1.0.4.zip below, upload what is inside its pagebrick folder to your hosting (including .htaccess), create a MySQL database and open the site. Requirements: PHP 8.2+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, Apache with mod_rewrite.

PageBrick 1.0.3
- The panel's language is independent of the site's. Each account has its own: set when the account is made, changed with the new globe in the top bar (or in My account). A site in English can have its panel in Portuguese, or the other way round. The sign-in screen follows the browser's language.
- Importing a theme's content in another language offers "Import and make English the site's language": one click, and the panel stays as it is.
- Updates show each step as it happens: downloading, checking the signature, keeping a copy, swapping the core and opening every page, then "All good" or the reason it was undone.
- LiteSpeed: the automatic check runs after the page is delivered, as on PHP-FPM. Settings → Updates says whether this server makes a visitor wait.
Update: sites on 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 set to "Automatic for fixes only" (the default) install this by themselves in the next few hours. To do it now: Settings (gear) → Updates → Update to 1.0.3.
New install: download pagebrick-1.0.3.zip below, upload what is inside its pagebrick folder to your hosting (including .htaccess), create a MySQL database and open the site. Requirements: PHP 8.2+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, Apache with mod_rewrite.

PageBrick 1.0.2
- Password fields have an eye: open to show the password, closed to hide it again (sign-in, account, users, e-mail, installer).
- The panel keeps its language when the site's main language changes.
- Content language check: a theme can say its ready-made content is in English (
'locale' => 'en'); importing it on a site with another main language is refused with a clear message instead of mixing languages. - Themes that can't be deleted say why: the active one (activate another first) and the default one (the safety net).
Update: sites on 1.0.1 set to "Automatic for fixes only" (the default) install this by themselves in the next few hours, and administrators get an e-mail. To do it now: Settings (gear) → Updates → Update to 1.0.2. Sites on 1.0.0: System → Updates.
New install: download pagebrick-1.0.2.zip below, upload what is inside its pagebrick folder to your hosting (including .htaccess), create a MySQL database and open the site. Requirements: PHP 8.2+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, Apache with mod_rewrite.

PageBrick 1.0.1
- Update notice and automatic updates. The dashboard announces new versions and the gear icon gets a dot. In Settings → Updates each site chooses: manual, automatic for fixes only (1.0.x, the default) or automatic for everything. An automatic update has the same backup, check of every page and automatic undo as the button, never retries a version that was undone, and e-mails the administrators.
- Settings behind a gear icon (administrators only): Address and languages, Themes, Plugins, Updates, E-mail, Users.
- The site's address can be changed, for example to
https://after installing before the certificate was ready. - The main language can change after installing: importing a theme's content finds the pages at their old addresses (
/sobreon a site switched to English) and moves them, instead of making copies.
Update: in the panel of a 1.0.0 site, open System → Updates and click Update to 1.0.1. PageBrick keeps a copy of the current version, checks every page with the new one and goes back by itself if anything breaks.
New install: download pagebrick-1.0.1.zip below, upload what is inside its pagebrick folder to your hosting (including .htaccess), create a MySQL database and open the site. Requirements: PHP 8.2+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, Apache with mod_rewrite.
