Community-directory review: full ESLint error inventory cleared

The automated review's ESLint pass had been crashing on this plugin since the listing was submitted; with the crash fixed in 4.0.10, the scanner surfaced the complete pre-existing inventory. This release clears all of it — 0 errors in the official ruleset (was 1400+), verified locally with the official validator (npm run validate).

  • Type safety (no-unsafe-*, floating/misused promises, redundant assertions): repaired phantom type imports left by a bad export, added real interfaces for AI/JSON/dictionary/player data, narrowed catch params, and marked fire-and-forget calls with void — timing and runtime semantics unchanged.
  • No direct static style assignments: every literal element.style.* write now goes through Obsidian's setCssStyles with identical inline results.
  • Dependencies: builtin-modules replaced by node:module, unused dotenv removed.
  • Storage & files: view preferences moved from raw localStorage to vault-scoped App#saveLocalStorage/loadLocalStorage (with one-time migration of existing values); workshop note deletion now uses FileManager.trashFile to respect your trash preference.
  • Also from the previous round: unused import/variable cleanup, MarkdownRenderer.render API adoption, :has() selector replacement.

39 advisory warnings remain (none blocking): UI-text sentence-case suggestions, two fetch call sites kept for CORS reasons, two TFile casts, native confirm dialogs, and declarative-settings adoption for 1.13+ search.

Fixes

  • Shadowing workshop: opening a video note (from the workshop catalog card or the navigation-panel button) showed the empty state instead of loading the media — a leftover call to a removed YouTube API loader threw on every view open. Fixed; the desktop player is driven by the iframe's built-in postMessage API.
  • Flashcard manager: opened as a blank modal (same class of leftover call to the removed style injector). Fixed.
  • Vocabulary test: the results screen broke mid-render (language used outside its declaring block). Fixed, along with a matching block-scoping bug that made saving a new flashcard report failure while the flashcard view was open.
  • CSS: the vocabulary-test list bullet now renders as • instead of literal \2022 (a lost template-literal unescape in the styles.css migration).

New

  • Workshop samples: the LME Workshop folder now seeds 8 TED-Ed shadowing notes (great stories, tariffs, doorway effect, sense of direction, explaining complicated things, bird flu, attention span, magnets), each with cover image and video link frontmatter. The two cover-less legacy samples are removed and cleaned up from existing folders.
  • Default YouTube subscriptions: TED-Ed and BBC Learning English come pre-subscribed (channel IDs verified via canonical link + externalId; deleted channels are never re-added).
  • Calmer paywall: Basic-Edition-locked settings (learning language, UI theme, flashcard study mode, prompt editing/adding, mobile dictionary import) are now fixed to their free value with an explanatory note, instead of popping an upgrade modal on every interaction.

What's new

Community-directory review fixes

  • No more remote code at runtime: the desktop YouTube player is now driven by the embedded iframe's built-in postMessage API (enablejsapi=1) instead of injecting the external iframe_api script.
  • No more runtime <style> injection: all view styles moved into styles.css; MDX dictionary content inside shadow roots now uses adoptedStyleSheets.
  • Repaired file corruption left by a bad export: duplicate settings field, a stray class member, and missing type imports.
  • CSS compatibility: removed duplicate background/background-image/border-color declarations and replaced partially-supported text-decoration / text-indent usage with fully-supported equivalents.
  • The README is now English-first (Chinese documentation: README-ZH.md).

Dependency & security

  • moment upgraded to 2.31.0 via npm overrides (GHSA-4p3w-j4w9-5jqw); obsidian moved to devDependencies — production dependency audit is clean.

Build & release

  • npm run build now produces a one-shot production bundle (watch mode moved to npm run dev).
  • Release assets (main.js, manifest.json, styles.css) are built in GitHub Actions with artifact attestations for provenance verification.
