PanPlay 0.1.0.1 — Dandelion [Build 1029]
🌼 PanPlay 0.1.0.1 — Dandelion [Build 1029]
Today I am pleased to announce PanPlay 0.1.0.1 "Dandelion" [Build 1029], the next public stable release of PanPlay. This release replaces 0.1.0.0 Cactus as the default version on the CDN and is now the latest version built for production use.
With Dandelion, PanPlay continues to mature as a platform — this release focuses on internal restructuring, hardened attribution integrity, improved language handling, and a significantly updated browser compatibility layer.
🚀 Get Started
Run PanPlay on your own server (PHP 7.0+ required) or use the CDN — no installation needed:

🔄 What's Changed
🌐 Browser Compatibility
The browser compatibility check has been fully overhauled as part of the new browser support service at browser.pangom.net.
- Minimum requirements raised to ES2021+ and TLS 1.3. Supported from: Chrome 86+, Firefox 86+, Edge 91+, Safari 14+, Vivaldi 5+, Opera 71+. Internet Explorer and legacy EdgeHTML are blocked server-side.
- Compatibility failures now route through the PanPlay Bluescreen interface instead of delivering the full browser.pangom.net UI to outdated browsers. Bluescreen content is fully localized via PanPlay language files.
- New URL parameter
lgc=ondisables the server-side compatibility check for debugging. - New URL parameter
lgc=netscapeforces the compatibility failure path for testing purposes. - Bluescreen error codes are now generated from the actual status instead of being hardcoded as
500 Internal Server Error. - The Bluescreen function safely falls back to
500 Internal Server Errorwhen called without a valid status code or through an older two-argument call style.
⚙️ Central Instance Configuration
Player configuration has been significantly reorganized:
- Player identity, version info, legal references, and global flags are now centralized in
/data/storage.php. engine/config.phpis no longer part of the active initialization path — all values are now provided bystorage.php.storage.phpis loaded at the start ofengine/init.php, making Bluescreen paths, first-run state, hoster info, legal URLs, language behavior, and attribution data available before the player UI renders.cfg_debug_modeis applied during early initialization; PHP errors are shown in-player when enabled and suppressed in production.about_extension_linkandenable_extension_creditsare now controlled viastorage.php.- Compatibility aliases keep older runtime variable names available during migration.
🔐 Core Attribution Integrity
- The engine attribution in the About dialog is no longer a single editable string — it is assembled from protected
pp_pro_*core values. - A SHA-256 hash is verified on initialization, based on the concatenation of
pp_pro_engine_name,pp_pro_copyright,pp_pro_license,pp_pro_license_url,pp_pro_company, andpp_pro_company_url. - If these values are altered without updating the expected hash, PanPlay halts with a Bluescreen indicating misconfiguration. This is a safeguard against accidental data corruption — not a copy-protection mechanism.
- Intentional downstream builds must regenerate the hash from the same value concatenation order.
📜 Legal Document Handling
- Privacy and imprint links are now controlled by source switches in
storage.php. - When
pro_privacy_useremotesourceistrue, the About dialog links directly topro_privacy_link. Whenfalse, documents are served locally fromdata/privacy.txtviaengine/legal/index.php?doc=privacy. - Same applies to imprint via
pro_imprint_useremotesourceanddata/imprint.txt. - Local legal text files support plain text only; HTML is escaped before rendering.
- Existing public URL parameters are unchanged.
🌍 Language Behavior
cfg_default_langis now the server-side fallback language. Language codes are normalized (en-US→en-us).- New flag
cfg_auto_lang_overridedisables automatic browser language detection — PanPlay then usescfg_default_langunless ahlURL parameter is provided. - The
hlparameter continues to take priority over both auto-detection and the default.
📻 Laut.fm Extension
- Laut.fm streams no longer use separate placeholder cover images. The station logo is used instead, both for cover art and background imagery.
- Old placeholder images are no longer included in the player distribution.
🗂️ Internal Repository Cleanup
- The legacy Master-Changelog is discontinued and will no longer be maintained. Release notes are tracked in the active release folder, on play.pangom.net, and in GitHub release notes.
- The old oOPlay base package has been moved to the
Archivefolder for historical reference and is no longer part of active player releases.
📋 Version Lifecycle Updates
With the release of Dandelion, the support status of several older versions changes. Full version overview: play.pangom.net/version-all
| Version | Name | Status change | CDN |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.0.1.8 | Hyacinth | Limited → Unsupported | Removed 01.07.2026 |
| 0.0.2.0 (Patch A) | Barberry | Extended Limited Support ¹ | Removed 01.08.2026 |
| 0.1.0.0 | Cactus Builds 1000, 1026, 1027 | → Unsupported (self-hosted) ² | N/A |
¹ The end-of-life date for 0.0.2.0 Patch A was originally 01.10.2025 and is extended one final time to 01.08.2026. There is no further grace period — support ends immediately and directly as Unsupported on that date.
² A note on Builds for self-hosted instances:
Builds are small, quick patches that fix minor bugs between full releases. They are not published as GitHub Releases — new Build files are made available directly in the repository without a formal release entry. On the CDN, Builds are applied automatically and transparently: the CDN always runs the latest Build, older Build numbers are replaced server-side and are not individually addressable.
For self-hosted instances, PanPlay does not update itself. If you downloaded Build 1000, 1026, or 1027 of Cactus and have not manually replaced your player files since, you are running an outdated instance. Because Builds are small and targeted, their support window is intentionally short — staying current is straightforward. As of 15.06.2026, Builds 1000, 1026, and 1027 of 0.1.0.0 Cactus are no longer supported. Please update your files to the current Build to remain on a supported version.
