What's new

The first step of the roadmap is done: a player profile across many demos. One demo is a small sample; several demos give confident conclusions.

Combined profile: 71 rounds from 3 Mirage demos

📚 Library: parse a folder once, keep the analysis

  • Add a demo folder in the new Library section. DemReview parses every .dem in it (subfolders included) and keeps the analysis.
  • Rescan adds only new and changed demos. Demos that are already in the library are never parsed again.
  • The library lives in its own library.db: it has no 50-demo limit and is not cleared with the cache. Your .dem files are never changed or deleted.

👥 Combined profile across many demos

  • Pick a player and tick the demos. The player is found in every match by SteamID.
  • Patterns, roles, the T vs CT comparison, the radar and heatmaps are computed across all rounds together. More rounds mean more confidence in every pattern.
  • It's built from the library in seconds, even if the .dem files are already deleted.
  • In the combined profile, rounds are numbered consecutively, and the Demos in the profile card shows which rounds come from which demo. Export to Markdown/JSON lists the demos too.

🗺️ Map filter

The profile is built per map, because a player's habits on Mirage and on Nuke are usually very different. Each map shows how many demos the player has there.

🙋 My profile

Set yourself as the main player once, and every demo you open that you played in is saved to the library automatically. Your own profile grows with each match. The My profile button selects you right away, and the auto-save can be switched off on the Library page.

Library: a player's demos on a map

🎨 New interface

  • A dark theme with a section bar (Radar, Stats, Profile, Library, Settings) and a player panel with both teams, K / D / A, the kill-death difference and a nickname search. The top menu is gone; the hotkeys stay.
  • Radar: filters above the map, +/− and reset-view buttons, a legend, a timeline with a play button and a speed picker, and round cards with the first zones of the route.
  • Statistics: summary tiles (rounds, wins, damage per round, first contact, overall and per side), side and buy switches on the page, and buy and grenade badges in the table.
  • Player profile: a predictability ring, role cards with key metrics, a T vs CT comparison, and a category filter for patterns.
  • Settings: analysis thresholds can be edited in the app (no need to edit settings.json), plus the cache fill level.

🔧 Fixes and improvements

  • Pistol rounds are detected at the start of every demo in a combined profile.
  • Bots with the same name in different demos are treated as different players.
  • Analysis of long (combined) matches is much faster: 10 demos now take about a second instead of more than ten.
  • A demo that is in the library opens instantly, even after the cache is cleared.

Download

System File
Windows 10/11 x64 DemReview-0.2.0-win-x64.zip: unpack and run DemReview.exe
Linux x64 DemReview-0.2.0-linux-x64.tar.gz: unpack and run ./DemReview

No installer and no .NET needed. The app is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn on first start: More info → Run anyway. Use SHA256SUMS.txt to verify the files.

Settings, the main player and the demo cache from 0.1.x are kept. To start your library, open Library → Add a demo folder (for example, Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\replays or your FACEIT downloads folder).

What's new

🙋 Main player — pick yourself once

When you open your first demo, DemReview asks "Which player are you in this demo?"
Pick yourself, and from then on:

  • you are selected automatically as soon as a demo opens — no more scrolling through ten nicknames;
  • you are marked You in the player list;
  • your demos are ready for the upcoming multi-demo personal profile (see the roadmap).

You can also enter your SteamID manually in Settings → Main player. Accepted formats are
SteamID64, a steamcommunity.com/profiles/… link, [U:1:…] and STEAM_0:….
Not in this demo? Skip it, or turn the prompt off. Your SteamID is stored only on your computer and is never sent anywhere.

🗺️ Radars for 13 more maps — 23 in total

  • Hostage: Office, Italy, Shelter
  • Classics: Dust, Ancient (Night)
  • Community and other modes: Boulder, Debris, Eldorado, Fachwerk, Poseidon, Baggage, Shoots, Shoots (Night)

Coordinates come from the game's own overview files, so routes and grenades line up with the map.
Train now also detects its lower level by height, like Nuke and Vertigo.

DemReview 0.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@Pank0REKT Pank0REKT released this 20 Oct 08:14

A small update with two new maps, opt-out usage statistics and a project website.

What's new

  • Vertigo and Cache radars. Both maps now have radar images and calibrated coordinates,
so routes, grenades and deaths line up with the map. Vertigo's two levels are told apart by height.
  • Anonymous usage statistics. The app now sends two events — app start and demo load
(map, cache or parse, parse time) — plus the app version, OS and system language.
No file names, nicknames, SteamIDs or persistent user ID are ever sent.
Turn it off any time in Settings → Usage statistics.
  • Project website: https://pank0rekt.github.io/demreview-cs2/ — screenshots, a step-by-step guide and FAQ.

Download

Builds are self-contained: .NET is not required.

  • Windows 10/11 x64: unpack DemReview-0.1.1-win-x64.zip and run DemReview.exe.
The app is not code-signed, so SmartScreen may warn on first start: More info → Run anyway.
  • Linux x64: unpack DemReview-0.1.1-linux-x64.tar.gz and run ./DemReview
(needs a desktop session with X11 or XWayland).

Use SHA256SUMS.txt to verify the downloads. Settings and the demo cache from 0.1.0 are kept.

DemReview 0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 19 Oct 14:32

DemReview 0.1.0 — first public release

DemReview is a desktop app that shows how one specific player behaves in a Counter-Strike 2 demo:
where they go, which grenades they throw, how they react to the situation in a round, and which habits
repeat often enough to be predictable. Works fully offline on Windows and Linux.

Highlights

  • Radar — every route of the player on the map, grenades from throw to detonation, deaths,
    heatmaps of positions or deaths.
  • Round replay — timeline with playback (×0.5–×8), all players with view direction, nickname on hover,
game-style kill feed, damage pop-ups and grenade damage.
  • Statistics — each round as "conditions → decision" (side, buy, score → route, position, grenades,
aggression, opening duel, damage) with frequency tables.
  • Player profile — role on each side with reasons, stable behavior patterns with frequency and confidence,
ADR and a predictability index; example rounds of any pattern on the radar in one click.
  • Export of the profile to Markdown or JSON.
  • Russian and English interface, chosen on first start and switchable in Settings.
  • Parsed demos are cached, so reopening a demo takes seconds.
  • Radar images and coordinates for Mirage, Inferno, Dust II, Nuke, Ancient, Anubis, Train and Overpass.

Linux x64 DemReview-0.1.0-linux-x64.tar.gz — unpack and run ./DemReview

Builds are self-contained: .NET is not required. Verify the downloads with SHA256SUMS.txt.

Windows: the app is not code-signed, so SmartScreen may warn on first start — click More info → Run anyway.
Linux: a desktop session with X11 or XWayland is required.

Good to know

  • One demo is a small sample: look at "N of M" and the confidence of each pattern, not only at percentages.
  • Map coordinates are verified on real demos for Mirage and Anubis; please report misali
  • The only network request is an optional check for new releases on start (Settings → Updates).
