@ParendumOU ParendumOU released this 24 Oct 12:56

Corvus on your phone: pair the new Android companion app, see your computer's tabs there, and open pages sent from the phone.

Download

Platform File
Windows (installer) Corvus-Setup-0.11.0.exe
Windows (portable, no install) Corvus-Portable-0.11.0.exe
Linux (any distro) Corvus-0.11.0-x86_64.AppImage
Debian / Ubuntu corvus_0.11.0_amd64.deb

Check your download against SHA256SUMS.txt. The installers are not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC" on first run: choose More info, then Run anyway. Installed 0.2.0 and later apps update automatically, and so does the portable build from 0.5.0 on. Coming from 0.2.0? Read "Before you update" in the 0.3.0 notes first.

The Android app is a separate download: see Corvus for mobile 0.1.0.

Sync

  • Pair a phone: Settings > Sync has "Pair a phone". After a confirmation it shows a QR code
with your sync server's address and your recovery phrase for the Corvus mobile app to scan
(it hides itself after two minutes). It warns when the server address is one a phone cannot
    reach, such as localhost.
  • Pages from your phone: pages sent from the Corvus mobile app open as background tabs on
the computer they were sent to, with a notification, usually within a minute while Corvus is
running. Corvus looks for them with one small request every 30 seconds between syncs.
  • Sync server: the server now accepts pages sent between devices. If you host your own,
update it (git pull, then docker compose up -d --build sync-server); the phone tells you
when the server is too old to send pages.

Updates

  • The beta channel now finds desktop releases past Corvus for mobile releases, which share this
    repo (tags mobile-v…).
