Corvus 0.5.0
Translate pages from the address bar, no more cookie notices, links without tracking, and a portable build that updates itself.
Download
| Platform | File |
|---|---|
| Windows (installer) | Corvus-Setup-0.5.0.exe |
| Windows (portable, no install) | Corvus-Portable-0.5.0.exe |
| Linux (any distro) | Corvus-0.5.0-x86_64.AppImage |
| Debian / Ubuntu | corvus_0.5.0_amd64.deb |
Check your download against SHA256SUMS.txt. The installers are not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC" on first run: choose More info, then Run anyway. Installed 0.2.0 and later apps update automatically. Coming from 0.2.0? Read "Before you update" in the 0.3.0 notes first.
Using the portable build? Download Corvus-Portable-0.5.0.exe by hand this once: from 0.5.0 on, the portable build updates itself.
Browser
- Translate pages: a page written in another language shows a translate button in the
address bar. One click translates the whole page in place, as you watch, with your AI
provider; a second click shows the original. Choose the language in Settings > AI ("Translate
pages into"), or turn the offer off. "Translate this page" in the right-click menu works on any
page. - No more cookie notices: the blocker hides cookie consent banners, newsletter pop-ups, app
banners and similar clutter with the EasyList Cookie and uBlock Origin annoyances lists.
Settings > Ad & tracker blocker > "Hide cookie notices and annoyances" (on by default). - Links without tracking: pages open without their tracking parameters (utm_*, fbclid,
gclid, msclkid and similar); the rest of the address stays exactly as it was. Settings > Ad &
tracker blocker > "Remove tracking from links" (on by default). - The portable build updates itself: Corvus-Portable checks for updates like the installed
app, downloads the next portable copy next to itself, verifies it against the release
checksums and replaces itself when you restart.
