Release list
v0.21.0
[v0.21.0] - 2026-10-24
Highlights
Find now works inside the open note: Cmd/Ctrl+F opens CodeMirror's find panel in the editor (with match case, regular expressions, whole word and replace, the last disabled in a read-only workspace) or a find bar over the preview that highlights and counts matches, while Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+F jumps to the vault search box, opening the left panel if it is closed, and Cmd/Ctrl+G and Shift+Cmd/Ctrl+G step through matches of whichever find is open. The Settings dialog has been reorganised into This computer and This vault groups laid out in three columns so it no longer scrolls at a usual window size, it can now be opened with no vault open, and Done is now Save with the colour reset relabelled Reset colour. The download page's buttons also now link straight to the installers for the release the page was built from, instead of querying the GitHub API and falling back to the release page when its rate limit runs out.
Features
- Find in the open note, and a shortcut to the vault search (#124)
- Find Next and Find Previous (Cmd/Ctrl+G, Shift+Cmd/Ctrl+G) (#126)
Bug fixes
- Download links built from the page's release, without the GitHub API (#123)
- The Settings dialog, grouped, in three columns, and open with no vault (#125)
Docs
- Describe version 0.21.0 in the README (#127)
v0.20.0
[v0.20.0] - 2026-10-24
Highlights
Scrinotia can now open a folder of repositories as a read-only workspace, enabled by a new "Open a folder of repositories as a read-only workspace" checkbox under "This computer" in Settings, off by default; such a folder is detected when at least half its visible subfolders are repositories, and the tree, index, search and links then cover each worktree's root notes and docs/ while skipping code, bare clones, node_modules and loose top-level files. Everything that would write to a workspace is refused — the editor is not editable, create, rename, trash, drops and pasted images are unavailable, and the title is marked "(read-only)" — though .scrinotia/ settings are still stored in the workspace folder itself. The README now links the documentation site and points to the download page for installs.
Features
- Open a folder of repositories as a read-only workspace (#120)
Docs
v0.19.0
[v0.19.0] - 2026-10-23
Highlights
This release adds a documentation site with a download page offering the macOS .dmg, Windows .exe, Ubuntu .deb and Linux AppImage of the newest release, and the About window's update notice now points there. The project has moved to the ParkviewLab organisation, so update checks, the download link and the About window's source link use the new address; installed copies of earlier versions keep the old one and rely on GitHub's redirect. The macOS build is now signed and notarised, so the Control-click workaround described in the README no longer applies, and a commercial licence is offered alongside AGPL-3.0-or-later. The repository also gains issue forms for reporting problems and requesting features and a security policy for private reports, though outside pull requests are not accepted for now.
Features
- A download page on the documentation site, linked from About (#113)
Bug fixes
- Show the pronunciation in its own case on the download page (#115)
