PoB unable to check for updates

• I'm running the latest version of Path of Building and I've verified this by checking the changelog

Check for duplicates

• I've checked for duplicate open and closed issues by using the search function of the issue tracker

What platform are you running Path of Building on?

Windows

How is Path of Building expected to behave?

When opening Path of Building, the application should be able to connect and check for updates.

How does Path of Building behave?

The check immediately fails and a text window opens with the following message: Update check failed! Invalid remote manifest.

This issue is also reproducible if all instances of PoB are killed via Task Manager and PoB is opened as Admin

This issue happens on Windows 11 Version 24H2

How to reproduce the issue

1. Open PoB
2. Validate that the update check fail appears on screen

@MonosMae there's something wrong with GitHub in the past week, and they have been blocking traffic to a bunch of South American countries for some reason. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can really do about it

It's weird that I can post messages here but when I try to update PoB via it's check for updates button it fails in this way 🤔
Just trying to double check if there could be anything that can be done so I can still update when the new League drops (aside from manually downloading and installing PoB again)

PoB updates via raw.githubusercontent.com, which is the problematic URL. Like you said, github.com works fine, so you should be able to download a new version from the Releases page when we put one out at least.

@ForgottenHero @LocalIdentity @Wires77 I wanted to report that it seems Github has addressed this issue and I could update PoB to the latest version from PoB itself. I will be closing this Issue.

Faced same issue today, running PoB on Mac via Sikarugir.
Spent some hours trying to fix it. Turns out they restricted SA IPs one more time.
If someone else facing that issue from SA, just use VPN, and PoB will start working again.
