Optional: companion transcode server (vlc-tv-transcode v1.0.0)

If your TV can't decode some of your files natively (DTS / TrueHD audio, oddball video codecs), pair the app with the companion server — it reads from your SMB share, transcodes only the parts the TV can't handle, and feeds the TV a TV-friendly HLS stream.

Native binaries (Linux + Windows builds bundle `ffmpeg`/`ffprobe` — no separate install needed; macOS users `brew install ffmpeg` first):
