Add toggle on settings screen for file and dictory name use instead of tags or id3 metadata
#3502
There are another requests for this feature: #1371#1425
As these requests are pretty old, I'll renew the discussion.
The usability point is pretty simple, just a button to make the app ignore the file metadata when reading and displaying the audio files. An whole app setting would be great, just like there is in Fossify Music Player.
Sometimes is pretty easy to have a perfectly organized library in terms of directory structure that is a complete mess looking at id3 tags and metadata, because the source of the files just provided them without metadata, or there is no normalization of metadata at all across the library. So it's more convenient to just ignore the metadata and work only with the directory structure.
I've found another libre audiobook player called AudioAnchor, it's pretty good, just ignores all metadata, and lacks only a better user interface.
I think this app is awesome, both for offline audiobooks and audio courses. But with this feature it would be perfect.
