STELLORA — Initial Release

@PeepSick PeepSick released this 11 Sep 03:36

STELLORA is a local-first 3D environment for exploring your knowledge, memories, photos, music and digital history as a living galaxy.

This first release brings the core STELLORA experience together in one place.

What you can do

Knowledge can be imported from Markdown files and explored as a 3D graph. Wiki-style links between notes become visible connections in the galaxy.

Photos can be turned into memory nodes, with dates, locations and available EXIF information.

Local music files can be discovered and explored inside the galaxy while also being played directly from the application.

GitHub repositories can be visualized through their commit history, giving the project its own kind of Git Galaxy.

There is also a timeline view, finance corpus support, JSON export and import, multiple visual themes and browser-tab synchronization.

AI

STELLORA includes an AI chat interface that can interact with the galaxy instead of simply answering questions.

The AI can search knowledge, inspect memories, read notes and work with the information available inside STELLORA.

Different AI providers can be configured using your own API keys, and local Ollama models can also be used.

Voice interaction is available through Talk Mode, with support for voice input and spoken responses.

MCP

STELLORA also includes an MCP server.

This makes the knowledge and memory inside your galaxy available to MCP-compatible clients such as Claude, Cursor and OpenCode.

The MCP server runs locally and provides tools for searching knowledge, reading notes, exploring memories, working with finance data, inspecting Git information and retrieving galaxy statistics.

Local first

There is no STELLORA backend collecting your data.

The application is designed around local storage and direct connections to services you choose to use.

There is no telemetry.

You decide which AI provider, external service or data source STELLORA can access.

Built with

React, TypeScript, Vite, Three.js, React Three Fiber, Drei, Zustand, Tailwind CSS and the Model Context Protocol.

Getting started

npm install
npm run dev

Open the application at /app.

For the MCP server:

npm run mcp:build
npm run mcp:start

The idea

STELLORA started with a simple thought:

What if your digital life wasn't a collection of folders and lists, but something you could actually explore?

So we built a galaxy.

Your notes become stars.

Your memories become places.

Your connections become constellations.

Welcome to STELLORA.
