DeckyHelixSR Manager 0.10.2
Release 0.10.2
- HelixSR 1.9.3 supported (download, build, install). The Sharpening setting shows its default correctly (off), and the Int8 switch is back as "Int8 network (Speed Boost)".
- DLSS / XeSS games are listed: games that only have DLSS, XeSS or FSR 2 (no FSR 3.1, no OptiScaler yet) now show up in the game list, tagged "needs OptiScaler", instead of being hidden. Opening one explains the next step: install OptiScaler into the game (for example with the Decky Framegen plugin), press Check again, then install HelixSR with one button. Such a game running on DirectX 11 is marked as not supported.
- Games where HelixSR's own setup installed HelixSR Scaler are recognized more reliably and shown read-only.
DeckyHelixSR Manager 0.10.1
Release 0.10.1: HelixSR 1.9.0 release
- HelixSR 1.9.0 (now a regular release): the plugin downloads HelixSR's own zip from the new, larger release and builds it without the new frame generation part (about 400 MB of NVIDIA downloads that only HelixSR Scaler uses).
- Sharpening: the 1.9.0 release doesn't sharpen by default again. The Sharpening setting now shows the right default for the build a game has, and the Int8 switch only appears for the pre-release that had it.
- HelixSR Scaler: games set up with the new HelixSR Desktop app are shown with the working check, but left to that app.
- Heroic: Amazon games are also found in Heroic's newer location.
- If you downloaded 1.9.0 before, download it again and rebuild: the author replaced it with a different build.
DeckyHelixSR Manager 0.10.0
Release 0.10.0: games from other stores
- Other Stores (opt-in): games from Unifideck, Heroic (GOG, Amazon, Epic), Legendary, Lutris and games added to Steam by hand can now show up in the game list. Open the new Other Stores section and switch on the stores you use; each shows how many games it found. A store that's off isn't read at all.
- Add game folder: add any other game by picking its install folder; Remove from the list takes it out again (the game's files stay).
- In the game list, each game shows where it comes from (e.g. "· Heroic (GOG)").
- Safety: the plugin only reads the install lists the stores keep (no drive scanning, so the list stays fast), and only changes files inside a listed game's own folder. The running-game check works for these games too.
- Lutris support is included but hasn't been tested on a real device yet; feedback welcome.
Thanks to the GitHub issue that suggested it!
HelixSR Manager 0.10.0-beta.1 (pre-release)
Pre-release: HelixSR for games from other stores. For testing; the newest regular release is 0.9.3.
New: Other Stores
- Games from other stores can now be listed next to your Steam games. Turn each store on in the new "Other Stores" section; all are off by default, and a store that's off isn't read at all.
- Supported:
- Heroic Games Launcher (GOG, Epic, Amazon; native and Flatpak)
- Legendary
- Lutris
- Unifideck
- Non-Steam games added to Steam that start a game's .exe directly
- Add game folder: add any other game by picking its folder. "Remove from the list" only removes it from the list; the game's files stay.
- Shortcuts that start a game through a launcher (Heroic, Battle.net, …) can't tell the plugin where the game is. The section names those games, so you can turn on their store or add their folder.
- Safety: the plugin only changes files in the folders of listed games, never in your home folder, a whole drive or a Steam library. Install buttons stay blocked while the game is running.
Fixes
- The plugin's update check now handles pre-releases. If you install this beta, the plugin won't offer 0.9.3 as an "update", and it will offer 0.10.0 once that's released.
Tested on a Steam Deck OLED: Heroic (Epic game Chorus, HelixSR 1.9 through OptiScaler), Unifideck, and non-Steam shortcuts.
Not tested on a device yet: Lutris, standalone Legendary, "Add game folder" (incl. SD card) and the last-session check for non-Steam games. Reports welcome.
Tip for Heroic games with OptiScaler: Heroic's Steam shortcut starts Heroic, not the game. Set WINEDLLOVERRIDES = dxgi=n,b in Heroic (game settings → Advanced → Environment variables), not in Steam's launch options.
Install: download HelixSR-Manager.zip and install it through Decky → Developer → Install Plugin from ZIP File.
DeckyHelixSR Manager 0.9.3
Release 0.9.3
- Fixed: DirectX 12 games such as Ghost of Tsushima were wrongly reported as DirectX 11 and couldn't be installed. The check now only looks at the game's own .exe and also reads DirectX 12 loaded at startup through delayed imports. An exe it can't read never blocks the install
- New: Install anyway under the "not supported" note, for the rare case the check is still wrong
DeckyHelixSR Manager 0.9.2
0.9.2: update the plugin from the panel
- Plugin updates: when you open the plugin, it checks GitHub for a newer release (at most every few hours). If there is one, a Plugin update section appears at the top with an Update button. Decky asks you to confirm, then downloads the release, checks its SHA256 and reloads the plugin
- About this plugin: a new section at the bottom shows the installed version and has Check for plugin updates
- Note: install this version by hand one last time (Decky → Developer → Install plugin from URL or ZIP). From then on, updates come from the panel
DeckyHelixSR Manager 0.9.1
Release 0.9.1
- Fixed: HelixSR 1.9 sharpens lightly by default (NVIDIA's filter at 0.1). The Sharpening setting now shows that default, and choosing Off really turns sharpening off. Before, it showed "Off" while HelixSR kept sharpening.
DeckyHelixSR Manager 0.9.0
0.9.0: HelixSR 1.9.0 support
- HelixSR 1.9.0 (pre-release) can be selected, downloaded, built and installed like the previous versions. Tested on a Steam Deck OLED with The Witcher 3.
- New setting per game: Int8 network (experimental), for HelixSR 1.9 and newer. Auto (the default) turns it on for RDNA 2 and newer GPUs, like the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. It's about 15% faster, and the image differs only invisibly. Set it to Off if something looks wrong; restart the game after changing it.
- HelixSR's new license: from 1.9, HelixSR's setup scripts may be run but not modified. For 1.9 and newer, the plugin runs HelixSR's setup exactly as published. After the build, HelixSR's own game installer starts briefly and ends without changing any game; the plugin installs into your games as before. Releases up to 1.8.1 work as before.
DeckyHelixSR Manager 0.8.5
Release 0.8.5
- DirectX 11 games are clearly marked: games like Nioh 2 now show "Not supported: this game uses DirectX 11" instead of an install button. HelixSR only works in DirectX 12 games, and the plugin now detects this from the game's .exe. Games that can switch to DirectX 12 aren't affected
- Clearer error messages: when changing game files fails, the message says what went wrong in plain words, without long file paths
DeckyHelixSR Manager 0.8.4
0.8.4
- Fixed: while HelixSR builds or downloads, the progress bar no longer runs past the right edge of the panel. It now lines up with the other rows, with the current step on the left and the elapsed time on the right.
