More PerformedChart Controls

• Transition Controls have been added to allow controlling pad transition frequency.
• Facing Controls have been added to allow limiting inward (or outward) facing steps.
• Step Tightening can now limit stretch distance.
• Step Tightening can now limit travel speed and travel distance independently.
• Movements are now measured more accurately due to Minimum Panel Distance controls.
• Speed Tightening now allows for a SpeedTighteningMinDistance in order to easily treat all moves under a certain distance as equally preferable. This offers a simple way to allow candles in dance-double stamina charts.
• Lateral Tightening no longer requires a LateralTighteningPatternLength.
• Arrow Weights are provided for all supported ChartTypes.

Improved Parsing

• Any chart in the ChartTypes list above that doesn't have forced hands (5+ simultaneous steps, or unbracketable simultaneous steps) will be parsed.
• Tie breaking when parsing charts has been improved to prefer simpler orientations (e.g. not preferring crossovers and inverts) and to prefer paths with lower costs sooner.
• StepType Fallbacks have been added to support falling back to the best possible steps when the source chart has moves that cannot be represented in the destination chart. For example:
  • Stretch in a dance_double chart cannot exist in a dance_single chart, so stretch moves will fall back to normal steps.
  • Brackets cannot exist in a dance_threepanel chart, so bracket moves will fallback to steps without brackets.
• Improved bracket interpretation following foot swaps.
• Improved interpretation of crossovers vs. new arrow steps while one foot is holding.
• Improved footswap parsing to more accurately interpret long footswap streams.

More StepTypes

StepGraph generation has been overhauled to support more StepTypes. New StepTypes include the following (full list with descriptions available here):

Improved Performance

• v2.0.0 is ~17% faster than v1.0.0.
• StepGraphs are no longer generated at runtime. The needed StepGraphs are loaded from disk at startup, greatly improving startup performance.

Improved Documentation

• Documentation is now included in the release zip.
• Documentation has been rewritten to be more legible and to include example images of how certain controls affect generated charts.
• A Frequently Asked Questions page has been added.

Visualization Changes

• In addition to showing the input chart expression, Visualizations now show the output chart expression, which could differ due to StepType Fallbacks.
• Visualizations now use a dark theme and use custom noteskin art from GrooveAuthor instead of using StepMania assets.

Config Changes

• A DefaultExpressedChartConfig and a DefaultPerformedChartConfig are now specified in Config. Non-default config objects need to only define fields they override.
• StepTypeReplacements have been removed in favor of StepType Fallbacks.
• YTravelDistanceCompensation has been removed from PadData in favor of PerformedChart Config LateralMinPanelDistance and LongitudinalMinPanelDistance values.
• ConcurrentSongCount can be set explicitly to reduce memory usage.
• More stamina PerformedChart Config settings are provided by default. Stamina configs now limit transitions through Transition Controls and no longer use Lateral Tightening for fast stamina content.
• General restructuring of some Config objects.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed issue using IsFumenGenerated config option where the input chart's version was checked instead of the output chart's version.
• Fixed some escaped fields being doubly escaped when saving to sm/ssc files.
• Fixed crash loading sm/ssc files that end in comments.
• Fixed issue where StepMania would fail to load generated charts where the source file had no VERSION or had a VERSION under 0.74 and the source chart had both a DESCRIPTION and CHARTNAME set.

This is the initial release from 2021-04-03 migrated from Fumen repository, where it lived previously. This release references online documentation which has been updated for future versions and as such is in some cases inaccurate for v1.0.0.
