v1.1.3 — Spotify desktop support and clock colors

Choose a tag to compare

@PersianVibeCoder PersianVibeCoder released this 16 Sep 20:50

Silent Horizon + Quiet Line · v1.1.3

  • Fix desktop Spotify detection: discover all MPRIS players, including native and instance-suffixed Spotify names, instead of filtering for web browsers.
  • Keep healthy media players available when another player fails discovery.
  • Fix rapid media/refresh commands getting stuck in buffered input.
  • Add independent color pickers for the clock headline/today, digits, date, and AM/PM. Right-click the clock → Configure; changes apply immediately.

Validation: private-session DBus integration tests with simulated Spotify and browser peers cover discovery, artwork, pause/next/previous/seek, source selection, player exit/relaunch, and a broken peer. This verifies the MPRIS bridge, not an authenticated Spotify client on every distribution. All 10 installer regressions and refresh-handler checks pass. Clock colors were rendered and inspected with the bundled fonts, including malformed/missing-setting fallbacks.

Download silent-horizon.zip, extract, run bash install.sh as your desktop user, then log out and back in to reload the updated service. Existing settings are preserved. Change clock colors in Configure. Uninstall with bash uninstall.sh to restore backed-up files/settings; shared system packages remain installed.

The wallpaper, fonts and Quiet Glass theme remain included; videos remain outside the ZIP. The existing video preview is linked in the README. New location defaults remain zero with a blank label.

@PersianVibeCoder PersianVibeCoder released this 15 Sep 17:04

Silent Horizon + Quiet Line · v1.1.2

This release refreshes the presentation and screenshots; it retains v1.1.1’s clock-font and refresh-button fixes.

  • Hold the complete desktop, including the clock and Plank dock, in the opening.
  • Animate the zero-longitude horizon using UTC from afternoon through sunset into night.
  • Showcase the fictional track Blue Hour by Aster Vale, album After the Light, with original matching cover artwork.
  • Pair Now Playing with the actual card glow and animated ribbon; reduce the dock close-up to avoid excessive enlargement.
  • Replace GitHub screenshots with matching frames from the revised 48-second, 60 fps video.

The installer includes the wallpaper, fonts, applets, desklets and Quiet Glass dock theme. Videos remain separate assets, outside the ZIP. Location defaults are zero with a blank label.

Install with bash install.sh, then log out and back in. Uninstall with bash uninstall.sh. Existing user preferences are preserved.

v1.1.1 — Exact clock fonts and a new Quiet Glass showcase

@PersianVibeCoder PersianVibeCoder released this 15 Sep 16:51

Silent Horizon + Quiet Line · v1.1.1

  • Bundle fixed clock font faces for the light headline, serif italic “today,” thin digits/AM-PM and spaced date. Verify the actual font paths at installation to catch fallback fonts.
  • Use 12-hour time on new installs; preserve existing user preferences.
  • Fix the minimized Weather arrow and make refresh writes asynchronous with duplicate-click protection.
  • Keep the original taskbar icons, full-resolution wallpaper, Quiet Glass Plank theme/custom renderer and backup-based uninstaller.
  • Replace the showcase with a 48-second 1080p60 video, original ambient score, smooth transitions and a Quiet Glass dock close-up.

Download silent-horizon.zip, extract it, run bash install.sh, then log out and back in. For an existing clock, turn off 24-hour clock if you want AM/PM. Uninstall with bash uninstall.sh.

Video files are separate release assets and are not in the installer ZIP. Location defaults remain zero with a blank label.

Validation: ten installer tests, including a font-isolated install and intentional missing-italic failure; clock rendering compared against the original font files without host fonts; refresh button handlers tested with repeated requests and expansion toggles. Distribution-specific font rendering can still vary slightly.

v1.1.0 — Desktop fixes and Quiet Glass

@PersianVibeCoder PersianVibeCoder released this 13 Sep 18:52

Silent Horizon + Quiet Line · v1.1.0

  • Restore the original taskbar icons and correct clock/card proportions and panel sizing.
  • Refresh Cinnamon’s font map so the bundled clock fonts can be picked up correctly.
  • Install Plank when missing and apply Quiet Glass, preserving existing pinned apps and dock layout.
  • Include the custom Quiet Glass renderer for compatible Plank 0.11.89 systems, with full patched source and build instructions.
  • Include the original full-resolution Gemini Blue wallpaper and backup-based uninstall.

Download silent-horizon.zip, extract it and run bash install.sh. Log out and back in afterward. Run bash uninstall.sh to restore backed-up desktop files and settings. Shared system packages remain installed.

New location defaults are zero with a blank label. The showcase video remains on the main page and outside the installer ZIP.

Validation: nine installer tests pass. Clock rendering was compared pixel-for-pixel in an isolated Cinnamon session; original taskbar icons and the Quiet Glass dock were inspected there. The final rebuilt renderer has not had a further graphical run, and other distributions remain unverified.

v1.0.1 · Clock fonts and easy uninstall

@PersianVibeCoder PersianVibeCoder released this 13 Sep 18:17

Silent Horizon + Quiet Line · v1.0.1

  • Register and verify the bundled clock fonts before enabling desklets.
  • Install only missing APT dependencies; skip sudo when everything is already present.
  • Add bash uninstall.sh to restore all installation backups and return to the pre-install desktop, including installations made with v1.0.0.

Download silent-horizon.zip, extract it, and run bash install.sh. On the same PC with dependencies already available, the installer needs no administrator access. After updating, log out and back in so Cinnamon reloads the fonts.

To uninstall, run bash uninstall.sh as the user who installed it. Recovery backups, shared system packages and unbacked-up runtime caches are retained. The desktop files, bundled fonts, wallpaper and panel settings are removed or restored from their pre-install backups.

The ZIP includes Gemini Blue wallpaper and fonts, but no video. The preview plays on the repository main page. New location defaults remain 0, 0 with a blank label.

Validation: installer tests cover font-registration order, updates, rollback, uninstall through multiple backups and repeated uninstall. A separate clean graphical session is still needed to verify the reported clock appearance.

Silent Horizon + Quiet Line · v1.0.0

A complete Cinnamon desktop setup with illustrated weather, a live horizon panorama, an elegant clock, animated glass card edges and Now Playing in the taskbar.

Download silent-horizon.zip, extract it, open the extracted folder in a terminal and run:

bash install.sh

The ZIP includes the applet, desklets, Gemini Blue wallpaper and fonts. The installer can install dependencies, backs up affected files and desktop settings, and prints a restore command. The default full layout replaces the panel and wallpaper; use --layout widgets to keep them.

After installing, log out and back in, then right-click Weather → Configure to set your own location. New settings start at latitude 0, longitude 0, elevation 0 and a blank label.

Platform: built on Linux Mint 22.3 / Cinnamon. Other Cinnamon distributions are not yet verified. Installer checks cover fresh installation, repeated installation, restoring a backup, failure rollback and zero-coordinate defaults. This first release has not yet been tested in a separate clean-machine graphical session.

Preview: the creator's 40-second, 1080p60 presentation, with its soundtrack retained and location-bearing visuals replaced by demonstration data at 0°, 0°. The video shows weather changes, accelerated sky motion, a close-up of the looping glow, expanded and collapsed cards, and the taskbar player.

Files:

  • silent-horizon.zip — complete installation package.
  • Silent-Horizon-Preview.mp4 — 1080p60 showcase.
  • SHA256SUMS — checksums for the downloads.
