• macOS and Windows: Settings, the menu bar and the Windows tray show the running version.
• Windows: If the engine crashes, it keeps a local crash dump that support can read.

• macOS: An update that stopped at the database upgrade no longer leaves the app unable to open.
• macOS: Fixed a timeline crash.
• macOS: New projects and sessions appear without a relaunch.
• macOS: Unread badges stay accurate across project switches.
• macOS and Windows: Error messages name the cause and one next step, with Copy Diagnostics.
• Windows: Running the installer over an existing install keeps in-app updates working. If the tray says updates are unavailable, run the 1.8.3 installer once.
• Windows: If the library can't be opened, the app says why, and a library kept inside the install folder is moved out so updates can't remove it.
• Windows: Sessions are no longer split across two projects, and earlier splits are repaired.
• Linux: contextify tag add and tag remove work again.
• CLI: Errors for bad dates, unknown commands and unreadable databases are in plain language.
