What's New

GPU Support

This release adds first-class AMD GPU support alongside existing NVIDIA support:

  • AMD GPU portable exe — a new ROCm build variant is available for AMD RX 6000/7000/9000 series GPUs
  • pip/pipx support — AMD RX 5000+ users can now set up GPU acceleration via pip or pipx

See the GPU Setup Guide for setup instructions for all GPUs (NVIDIA and AMD).

Added

  • CPU/GPU mode display — shows device mode and compute type on startup
  • Distil-whisper models — added distil-medium.en and distil-small.en to default config

Fixed

  • Model load crash — bundled correct MSVCP140.dll instead of PyInstaller's incompatible version (may fix #22)
  • Tray icon path — fixed icon resolution for PyInstaller builds

Changed

  • Rewrote GPU setup guide with install-method-specific instructions (pip, pipx, portable exe)
  • Updated README with download variants
