The latest, full mod For Owlcat's Rogue Trader. No steam workshop needed since they removed the workshop for some reason.

[ STATE OF THE MOD ]

Like the Kingmaker VR mod release, this is basically me dumping the latest build i have of the mod to a place where people can try it out.
Unlike the Kingmaker VR mod, this Rogue Trader mod is still in a very early stage, a weird novelty. It should have an update that fixes the Xbox gamepad requirement though.

[ INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS ]

This mod needs the 2 .zips below, VRT.zip and ExtraWorkShopFiles.zip. I also uploaded the old steam workshop description in case you need to troubleshoot.
VRT.zip has to be installed in the same way as you would install the Toybox mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kroguetrader/mods/1?tab=description):

  1. Download the VRT mod file and unzip
    (2. If the folder is not already named 0VRT0 please rename it to that (optional?))
  2. Launch the game at least once.
  3. Please note that the game comes with its own built in Unity Mod Manager so you do not need to install another one
  4. Navigate to %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Warhammer 40000 Rogue Trader\UnityModManager\
  5. An example path is C:\Users\PC\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Warhammer 40000 Rogue Trader\UnityModManager\
  6. Copy 0VRT0 into the UnityModManagerFolder
  7. Launch Rogue Trader and you may need to hit ctrl+F10 to see the mod manager window
  8. Load a save or start a new game to get the most out of of the mod

for ExtraWorkShopFiles.zip:
Unzip this inside your game's .exe directory so that the "VRTassets" folder gets added and the "WH40KRT_Data" folder merges with the one already there. If it asks to overwrite anything, you can click yes.

[ HOW TO PLAY ]

  • The first time you launch it after downloading this mod, or after it updates it will likely not launch and my GPU even has some coil whine at this point. Just Close the game and launch it a second time.
  • Launch the game, nothing will show up in VR yet.
  • Get to the start menu
  • From now on, the VR controllers can emulate the gamepad (if your bindings are set up. Only Oculus touch bindings are included with the mod atm.)
  • Load a save or try to start a new game from the monitor
  • Use your VR controller's A button to confirm the loading screen when it's done
  • Press "SwitchPOV" (Y button for Oculus controllers) To enter VR!
You can press it again to toggle between traditional Top-down view and first person POV at mostly any time.
When in Top-down view, you can move the camera with both grab buttons (not the triggers). It's pretty cool.

[ CONTROLS ]

Controls are configured for Oculus touch (Quest 3, Quest 2,...) controllers. For other controllers, you can probably assign the controls yourself in the SteamVR bindings interface.
The controls are based on the game's official gamepad controls, shuffled around in a way i feel fits on the Oculus touch controllers:

Right A; interact
Right B: whatever B does
Left A/X; pause, hold to enter First-person mode
Left Y: open the abilities bar, hold to open the escape menu
Left trigger: Party member select interface
Right trigger: Ingame menu select interface (Character stats, equipment, journal, ...)
Holding the grip buttons and moving your hands lets you "pull" the world to move around, rotate and scale it in a way similar to or at least inspired by demeo.
left joystick moves the player, right rotates view when in first-person mode.

[ TESTING AND FEEDBACK ]

Tested on the Quest 3
I think development will slowly pick up again, but i hope this release is of use to someone regardless.

If there's any problems with the installer, please let me know. I didn't have time to test it yet.
