How complicated/difficult will it be to make pinta available for SteamOS?

I am planning to get a steam machine as a main developer PC. I have several workflow using paint.net, and pinta looks like a very good replacement.

I heard it's using flatpak.

Are there restrictions by valve?

I don't know the answer to that, but if it can run flatpak's then I'd expect it's very likely you could get Pinta running

Generally on Steam OS you want to install all apps as Flatpak where possible because while you can install them as traditional packages, OS upgrades will eventually delete those.

Pinta should install from the Discover app store in one click on Steam OS itself.
