Pluck

Status Platforms

Pluck is a native, cross-platform desktop image editor built to provide a professional-grade workspace where raster pixels, vectors, text, and effects operate seamlessly within a single document.

Built with a highly optimized custom engine, Pluck is incredibly fast and treats Linux as a first-class citizen alongside Windows and macOS.

Features Included (Pre-Alpha)

  • Advanced Layer System: Full support for layer groups, masks, blend modes, opacity, locking, reordering, and merging.
  • The Daily Tools: Essential tools including Brushes, Eraser, Clone Stamp, Healing Brush, Dodge, Burn, Smudge, Blur, Sponge, and Paint Bucket.
  • Professional Color Workflows: Includes standard, professional-grade adjustment tools like Curves and Levels for precise tonal and color correction.
  • Non-Destructive Workflows: Adjustment layers, cropping, and layer effects (Drop Shadows, Inner/Outer Glows, Strokes) apply dynamically without permanently altering your original pixels.
  • Smart Selections: Rectangular and Elliptical Marquee, Lasso, Quick-Select, and Magic Wand. Features built-in feathering, expansion, contraction, inversion, and intelligent edge-detection using perceptual color space math and fractional alpha.
  • Vectors & Typography: Resolution-independent vector shapes and genuinely rich text utilizing locally installed system fonts with full styling, alignment, leading, tracking, and live reflow.

Downloads & Installation

Pluck is currently in Pre-Alpha. You can download the latest standalone binary from the Releases page.

  • Windows: Download the .exe installer.
  • macOS: Coming soon
  • Linux: Coming soon

Note: Because this is a private-source repository, no source code is hosted here. All compiled releases are attached directly to the GitHub Releases page.

Current Status: Pre-Alpha

Pluck is currently in its first public Pre-Alpha. While the core engine and tools are operational, this is a very early build. Currently, only the Windows build is available for testing, with macOS and native Linux builds following shortly.
