Release list
v0.3.4
Fix: problems whose tests open a data file (e.g. /data/data.txt in 07_StrFile_23 and 07_StrFile_33) crashed locally with file not found. The extension now reads the problem's data files from the grader's test case page, puts them in a temporary folder for each run, and points /data/... paths in the input at them. Works for Run Tests, Run One Test and custom input; the AI explanation sees the files too.
All test caches are fetched again once after updating.
v0.3.3
Fix: the grader no longer allows test case downloads, so every test showed as FAIL (the extension saved a web page as the test). Tests are now read from the grader's test case page, and broken cached tests are fetched again automatically.
- The grader shows only the first 2 KB of each test file. A test whose input is longer is shown as SKIP (submit to check it); a longer expected output is checked on the part that's shown. Across the course this affects 1 test of 570.
- Also on Open VSX for Cursor, Windsurf and VSCodium.
v0.3.2
Now on the VS Code Marketplace: search ICE Nattee Grader in the Extensions view.
- Renamed to ICE Nattee Grader, with an icon and store details.
- The packaged
.vsixnow carries the README, licence and icon, so the same file works for the Marketplace and for local install.
No behaviour changes since v0.3.1.
v0.3.1
Create Solution File now puts each file in a folder per chapter (e.g. 05_List/05_List_15.py), and opens an existing file for the problem instead of making a second copy. Set nattee.organizeByChapter to false to keep files flat.
Install: download nattee-grader.vsix, then code --install-extension nattee-grader.vsix and reload VS Code.
Nattee Grader v0.3.0
New: Explain Test Failure (AI) - the ✨ button appears when a test fails and asks Google Gemini why, using your own free Gemini API key from aistudio.google.com (run 'Nattee: Set Gemini API Key' once). It sends the first 3 failing tests together, explains the bug without writing the fix, retries if Gemini is overloaded and falls back to an older model. Check your course's policy on AI help before using it. Nothing is sent until you press the button.
Install: download nattee-grader.vsix, run code --install-extension nattee-grader.vsix, reload VS Code.
Nattee Grader v0.2.0
New: submit to the grader from VS Code (always asks first), solved/in-progress marks and scores in the sidebar, first-difference highlighting with visible spaces, run one test or your own input, tests on Windows/macOS/Linux in CI. Fixed: a timed-out solution could keep running in the background. Install: download nattee-grader.vsix, run code --install-extension nattee-grader.vsix, reload VS Code. Needs VS Code 1.90+ and Python (or g++/gcc).
Nattee Grader v0.1.0
First release. Download nattee-grader.vsix below, then run: code --install-extension nattee-grader.vsix (or Extensions panel > ... > Install from VSIX), reload VS Code, open the Nattee Grader icon and sign in. Needs VS Code 1.90+ and Python (or g++ for C++).
