What's changed since 0.1.0
Devices
- The app now needs Android 13 or later. Android 11 and 12 are no longer supported.
- Secondary users and work profiles can now use the app. Before, only the main user of the device could use it.
- The app now works when Android keeps it on a memory card that is set up as internal storage (adopted storage).
- The device check no longer shows a warning for kernels older than 5.15.
Install and import
- When you import a game folder again, the app no longer deletes the copy that your installation uses.
- The app no longer closes when a picked folder has no end (for example, a folder that contains itself). It refuses the folder.
- Screenshots and screen recordings no longer show the small view of Blizzard's installers on the Install screen, because this view can show your CD key.
Playing
- A game that you import from a PC now starts in full screen, and the first tap after each start works. Before each start, the app sets the full-screen and cursor values in
d2gl.json. - The official PD2 launcher now runs with the same settings as the installers and the game. This makes it more stable.
- On some devices, the game stopped responding before its window opened. This is fixed.
- Keep the screen on during play in Settings now works. Before, the screen stayed on during play also when this setting was off.
- A change of font size or language during play no longer closes the game.
Controls
- Controller, touch and keyboard input no longer stays pressed in the game when you switch apps, open the in-game menu or disconnect a controller. Before, your character could continue to run or attack.
- Select + Start and L3 + R3 no longer send their first button to the game. Before, Start could open the game's menu when you switched to mouse mode.
- A quick tap no longer clicks at its old position during your next touch.
- A drag now ends when its finger lifts, also when another finger stays on the screen.
- Android's keyboard now closes when an in-game overlay opens. The Keyboard switch in the in-game menu now shows the real state of the keyboard.
Display
- On 4:3 screens, Back and Start are now in the bar above the picture. They no longer cover PD2's buttons below the picture, such as EXIT and OK.
- Fixes for cases where the graphics could hang on Mali GPUs.
Reliability
- When part of PD2 Launcher stops, the app starts it again after a wait. The wait becomes longer after each failure. After five failures in a row, the app stops and shows Try again. Before, the app could restart it without end, or stop with no button to start it again.
- The app no longer shows a stopped part as running, and it no longer waits without end for a part that does not answer.
- A power loss while the app unpacks its files no longer leaves damaged files.
- Many small fixes make starts, stops and restarts more reliable.
Security
- Apps that you give access to the game folder through Android's Files app can no longer add, change, rename or move programs and libraries, such as .exe and .dll files. You can still copy characters, the shared stash, loot filters and settings files, and you can still delete files. Import in Settings → App → Game files also refuses programs and libraries.
- Before each start, the app examines its support files. If something changed them, the app unpacks them again.
- Before each start of the game or the official PD2 launcher, the app sets the DLL lists in
d2gl.json(load_dlls_earlyandload_dlls_late) to the values that PD2 ships. Thus other apps cannot make the game load their DLLs. The other values ind2gl.jsonstay as they are, except the full-screen and cursor values (see Playing).
