First public release of TrueHeight — an automatic SteamVR floor-height lock that keeps your headset at a fixed height above the play-area floor. Sit, slouch or lie down: the floor follows you.

TrueHeight-v0.1.0-win64.zip below — extract anywhere, run TrueHeight.exe. Windows 10/11 x64 + SteamVR. No installer, no admin rights, ~2 MB.
What's in it
- Continuous chaperone-level floor lock: works in every SteamVR game and with every SteamVR-compatible headset. No game mods, no injected DLLs, nothing anti-cheat-relevant.
- Live console status: current height, applied offset, lock state.
config.ini— target height, smoothing, deadzone, max correction speed,only_when_worn,restore_on_exit,invert.- Global hotkeys: F7 reload config · F8 pause/resume · F9 restore the real floor.
--register/--unregisterfor auto-start with SteamVR.- The real calibrated floor is restored automatically on exit.
Fallout 4 VR + FRIK
Start TrueHeight first, put the headset on, let it lock, then calibrate FRIK once. FRIK reads a constant height forever after — body scale never drifts again. Don't run OVR Advanced Settings' Space Offset / Motion / Height Toggle at the same time.
Known issues
- Console window only; a system-tray build with a settings window is in development.
- The chaperone grid can flash briefly during large corrections.
- The correction direction was derived analytically, not measured on every headset. If the floor runs away instead of locking, set
invert=trueinconfig.iniand press F7 — and please open an issue with your headset model.
