We had it like this but it got some pushback so we reverted it, might be worth trying again but just giving some context

shift+tab for mode changing has become (maybe accidentally) second nature on agentic development tools, I used it for mode changing on posthog code even before I saw the little faded tooltip.

I agree with @adboio that a popover/dropdown-like UI would be nice for the UX of posthog code, but removing the shift+tab, for me, feels like a loss, not a change. Maybe keeping the shortcut + the new UI would be the right move, just thinking

ahh sorry - to clarify - i don't want to remove shift+tab! i just want to also be able to click the mode and get a dropdown :)
