Discpress v1.3.7
Discpress 1.3.7 fixes the most serious problems found by a full review of the app: jobs that could hang or keep running after Cancel, files in your output folder that could be deleted, and games that could be built from another game's tracks.
Get it
- ⬇ discpress.html (about 2.9 MB): the whole app in one file you keep.
- 🌐 powerbeef.github.io/discpress: nothing to download, and the way to convert big games on iPhone and iPad.
Fixes
- Cancel works from the moment you press Start. While a job was still identifying the game or measuring the device, Cancel did nothing and the job converted anyway. Removing a job then only hid it: it kept converting in the background.
- Removing a job no longer freezes the queue. Removing a started job that was still waiting for identification left every other job "Queued" until the page was reloaded.
- Your output folder is safe. Cancelling, or a failed job, deleted a file of the same name that was already in the folder. Now a file already there is replaced only if you agree, and a cancel leaves it as it was. Two games that get the same name no longer silently overwrite each other.
- Each game uses its own tracks. Adding a folder of several games (Dreamcast GDIs all use
track01.bin), a game with a missing track quietly took the same-named file from another game's folder, making a CHD of two discs. It now waits for its own file. Files of the same name, size and date in different folders are no longer taken for duplicates. - A damaged audio track no longer hangs Verify or Extract. chdman 0.289 looped forever on some damaged FLAC data; it's now reported as a decompression error.
- A helper thread that fails to start (an iPhone short on memory, for example) stops the job with a message instead of leaving it at 0% forever.
- Music CDs and PC discs are no longer named after a random game. A track that happened to have the size of some game in the database was taken as that game.
The CHDs are the same as 1.3.0's.
