Hello, I would like to be able to open a new command line with CTRL + T and close it again with CTRL + W, as this is implemented in almost every browser. Are there any possibilities for this? Thanks in advance.

PowerShell does not have a GUI. It uses the platform provided console or console emulators. For example on Windows it is common to use the Terminal app. This already has keyboard short-cuts for opening new command line sessions within the window.

The problem with using CTRL+T or CTRL+W is that would then prevent standard console programs from using those combinations, essentially hijacking them. For example this would prevent nano from doing "Where is" or "Execute".

This is really a feature request for whichever terminal emulator you are using.

You should be able to do this with whatever terminal you are using, for example Windows Terminal lets you customize actions for opening new tabs or close (ctrl+shift+w to close and ctrl+shift+t to open new tab). There isnt any improvements to PowerShell we could do but for the terminal. (ah @rhubarb-geek-nz gave great response as I was typing this out 😆 )
