Umbra (Vibepollo) 2.0.0-umbra.1
Umbra (Vibepollo) is Vibepollo with Umbra's additions for Eclipse: the host side of two-PC couch co-op on one screen. This first release is built on Vibepollo 2.0.0.
Download
Under Assets, download Umbra-Vibepollo-windows-x64.exe (Windows x64) and check it against SHA256SUMS. It is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn: check the hash, then More info → Run anyway.
- Installing over Vibepollo keeps your settings, applications and paired devices: it upgrades the installation in place, the way Vibepollo upgrades itself. The installer shows Switch to Umbra (Vibepollo).
- Installing over Apollo or the Apollo-based Umbra also keeps settings and pairings (the installer removes the old program first).
- To go back, run Vibepollo's own installer; it replaces this one in place.
Step-by-step instructions: Installation Guide.
What it adds to Vibepollo
- The GPU HEVC co-op encoder and the built-in Co-op Pane that Eclipse's co-op uses, with co-op encoder tuning that applies only to co-op sessions.
- Eclipse Link (controller and audio companion), wired-network pinning, switching the host's monitor off on request, and the host log Eclipse includes in its diagnostics.
- Quit from a client ends a Remote Monitor or Remote Input session.
- Everything Vibepollo adds over Apollo is kept as Vibepollo ships it, including its virtual display and virtual gamepad drivers and RTX HDR (NVIDIA's TrueHDR runtime, under NVIDIA's licence).
Status of this release
- Installed and checked on the project's three test PCs (Windows 11; RTX 4070, RTX 3070, Radeon RX Vega): in-place install over Umbra kept configuration and pairings on all three, the virtual gamepad driver installed on all three, every Umbra component is present.
- Tested live by the project's maintainer, streaming to Eclipse on the TV: the issues found (Quit not ending a Remote Monitor session, the legacy web UI and tray branding, the virtual gamepad driver) are fixed in this release, and no further issues were found.
- Until code signing is set up, the virtual gamepad driver is signed with Umbra's own certificate, which the installer adds to the PC's trusted certificates.
