📦 CS2 Ultimate Optimizer — v1.3 (2025-08-27)
🚀 What’s new

• Self-elevating without PowerShell: Admin UAC prompt via mshta (works on locked-down systems).
• No-auto-close architecture: All code paths return to menu or pause; persistent loop by default.
• Pure Batch core: Menu uses CHOICE; elevation and timestamps avoid PowerShell (PS used only for optional RAM trim).
• Resilient logging: WMIC or %DATE%/%TIME% fallback; automatic log rotation (keep latest 3).

✅ Improvements

• Robust CS2 path detection: Tries default + common SteamLibrary locations across multiple drives; manual fallback with validation.
• Safer cleanup: Only clears %TEMP% contents (never deletes the folder); extended shader cache sweep (NVIDIA/AMD/DX/Vulkan).
• Network tweaks with audit: Before/After netsh int tcp show global appended to log for visibility.
• Power plan tuning: Creates/activates CS2-Ultimate when possible, otherwise falls back to High performance and fine-tunes AC indexes.
• Launch options: -threads auto-derives from NUMBER_OF_PROCESSORS; includes -high -novid +fps_max 0.

🐛 Fixes

• Window closing unexpectedly: Replaced fragile key-reader and PS relaunch flows with CHOICE + single-process elevation; added pauses on every branch.
• Log rotation bug: Now reliably retains only the 3 newest logs.
• Graceful RAM cleaner: If PowerShell is missing/blocked, feature is skipped with a clear message (no crash).

🔒 Security/Hardening

• Firewall remains enabled (no mass disable).
• Registry edits are scoped to HKCU when possible; HAGS toggle under HKLM only.
• System Restore Point creation offered (WMI) without blocking the app flow.

🧰 Developer notes

• File: CS2_Optimizer_v1_3.bat
• Single-file design, works on Win10/Win11; no external deps required.
• Optional PowerShell only for RAM trim (EmptyWorkingSet); everything else is pure batch.

⚠️ Known issues

• Restore Point requires System Protection to be enabled for the system drive.
• Some OEM power plans can hide “High performance”; script falls back gracefully but logs a warning.
• HAGS setting may need a reboot on certain GPU driver stacks to fully apply.

🔁 Upgrade guide (v1.2 → v1.3)

• Replace your old .bat with CS2_Optimizer_v1_3.bat.
• (Optional) Re-run once to re-create the CS2-Ultimate power plan under your current user session.
• Check logs\optimization_*.txt after first run — verify Network BEFORE/AFTER sections.
