What's new

Linux

HoverPill now runs on Linux. There's a .deb for Debian and Ubuntu, an .rpm for Fedora and openSUSE, and an AppImage for any distribution.

  • It works on X11, and on Wayland through XWayland.
  • The closed notch opens when you point at it, and a click on it goes to the notch, not the window behind it.
  • It shows on every workspace, and hides when a fullscreen video or app covers the screen, like on Windows.
  • Notifications and media controls use your desktop's own (D-Bus and MPRIS).

Linux support is new, so if something doesn't work, please open an issue.

Always allow for Claude Code

When Claude Code asks for permission, the card in the notch can now offer Always allow. Claude Code then remembers the rule and stops asking for that kind of action. It only appears when Claude Code suggests a rule to remember.

Also

  • Fixed a security setting that could stop the app's window from talking to the app in some release builds.
  • Updated dependencies.

Thanks to @akshatnathani for Linux support and Always allow.

What's new

Google Calendar

Connect Google Calendar in Settings → Accounts and the notch shows your next event on Home, with a Join button for Meet, Zoom and Teams calls. Days with events get a dot on the calendar, and a reminder drops down before each event starts (1–60 minutes ahead, or off). Read-only: HoverPill never changes your calendar, and your events never leave your PC.

ChatGPT

Sign in with your ChatGPT account and ask from the notch's new ChatGPT tab. Questions use your Plus or Pro plan's included usage, with no API key. Answers stream in as they're written, and conversations are sent with storage turned off.

Also

  • A new green leaf icon, and installer artwork to match.
  • Sign-ins are saved encrypted, so only your Windows account can read them.

Install

Download HoverPill_0.2.0_x64-setup.exe below and run it. It installs for your user account, with no admin rights needed. If Windows SmartScreen stops it, choose More info, then Run anyway.
