A tiny macOS menu-bar app that keeps your Mac awake — even with the lid closed and unplugged. ☕️

Features

  • One-time admin setup for the lid-closed feature — no developer account or manual config needed.

Install

  1. Download CaffeinateCat.zip below and unzip it.
  2. Move CaffeinateCat.app to your Applications folder.
  3. Since the app is unsigned, the first launch is blocked by macOS. Right-click the app → Open, then click Open in the dialog.
    • Alternatively, run: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/CaffeinateCat.app

Requirements

  • macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
  • Administrator access (once) to enable the lid-closed feature
