ThreadPilot 1.7.7-beta.1 (test build)
Pre-release
Pre-release
Test build, not a stable release. It is published to test the new features before 1.7.7, in particular Efficiency mode on CPUs with efficiency cores (#66). The in-app updater does not offer it unless you enabled pre-release updates.
What's new
- Efficiency mode (EcoQoS) for running processes and saved rules, with three states: Windows decides, On and Off (never throttle) (#66, #69).
- Backups include saved process rules. Rules matching the same process apply in a predictable order, and conflicts are shown (#67).
- Clearer interface (#68, #70):
- Labelled side menu.
- Processes page with Filters and Columns menus, and Priority, CPU cores and Rule cards whose pickers show the current values.
- Undo for the last priority change.
- Rules page that opens on process rules.
- Settings and Tweaks laid out as Windows 11 style rows.
- Shorter texts in all 7 languages.
- Fix: the process counter could show more processes than the total.
Verified
- Clean install, upgrade and uninstall in a Windows 11 VM.
- Light and dark theme, 100% and 150% scaling.
- 788 automated tests, including a real Windows API round trip for efficiency mode.
Not verified yet
- The effect of efficiency mode on Intel hybrid CPUs (P-cores and E-cores). Feedback welcome in #66.
