The biggest release yet. Death's Door is now played out end to end, the sheet has a new optional layout, followers are real creatures from the moment you add them, and one window browses everything the world holds.

Death's Door, and what comes after

  • A character reduced to 0 HP is now walked through the whole of Death's Door, rather than being handed a card that prints its text and leaves every branch to be applied by hand. The system knows which move a character triggers at 0 HP, which is not always Death's Door: a Revenant rolls Undying, a Ghost disperses via Tethered, a Thrall has their own.
  • Refusing the Last Door used to end with a notification telling the player to go and fill in a tab. It now asks: their Instinct, their Terrible Purpose and who it is about, their first Consequence, and for a Thrall the master they named and the Impulse that came with it. Nothing there is a gate, every answer saves on the click, and closing part way through is safe.
  • A character wearing the Revenant, Ghost or Thrall insert carries the Death's Door dark on their own sheet and on everything they say in chat. A character who simply died takes the black too, with a Dead chip on the appearance line so the four kinds stay tellable apart. Every window opened from a sheet past the Door carries the same paper.
  • Fixed: dropping the Heavy (or any playbook) onto a sheet used to be taken for a post-death insert, which assigned no playbook, granted no starting moves, put a Post-Death tab on a living character, and deleted their recorded answers.
  • A miss on Death's Door no longer marks XP.

A new sheet layout, and the old one kept

  • The tabs on the character, steading and NPC sheets can now be a vertical rail of icons hung off the window frame, with the tall stat block moved onto the one tab that wants it instead of every page paying for it. The rail picks the edge it hangs from and re-picks it as you drag the window, so it never ends up off screen.
  • The redesign is optional. There is a world default and a per-sheet override, and the old layout is still there unchanged for anyone who prefers it.
  • Every actor sheet reopens at the size you last left it, height as well as width, and none of them can be dragged down to a stub any more.
  • The Arcana, Moves and Special Moves card grids now pack by height, so one tall card stops stranding the column beside it.

Browse Stonetop

  • One window, on the magnifying glass, with a tab each for the arcana (all 82, plus any homebrew), the bestiary, and the world's people. It replaces the two separate browsers, which were two of everything for one gesture.
  • Rows drag out as the document they summarise: a stat block onto a scene or into the Actors directory, an arcanum onto a character sheet to plant the card face-down, a person onto the map or onto a sheet to offer the follower conversion.

Followers

  • A follower gets an Actor of their own the moment they are added, not the first time somebody drags them onto a map, and that Actor is kept in step afterwards. A follower renamed, re-tagged, re-armed or given a portrait used to go on wearing the name, face and numbers they were born with.
  • The faces on a crew's roster have somewhere to live now: named individuals, anonymous members and the members of a custom group follower all take a portrait from the same picker as every other card.
  • Order Followers counts a follower's moves toward the bonus, not just their tags, and outside advantage now cancels a hindering tag rather than losing to it outright.
  • An initiate of Danu shows the same seedling on their sheet, their token, the sidebar and their card.

Arcana

  • Identifying a face-down card is no longer a Yes/No box that reveals everything either way. It prompts a Know Things roll: on a 10+ you get the card and both sides, on a 7-9 the front now and the back once you have studied it, on a 6- nothing but the knowledge that there is more to learn.

Weapons, damage and gear

  • A move can hand you a weapon. The Lightbearer's Purifying Flames offers its holy light in the attack flow alongside carried gear, and rolling the stat the weapon rides on pre-selects it.
  • The damage die can be set by hand without the playbook overwriting it, and a die raised by a marked move now actually rolls at the size the sheet shows.
  • Fixed: gear a GM handed to a player could land on a token's private copy of the character and never reach the player's sheet. New characters link their prototype token.

The sheet itself

  • The Lightbearer's holy light and the Judge's brand now stand beside the name plate, at its own height. Two playbooks were carrying state the sheet never recorded.
  • Permanent max HP changes from arcana and post-death consequences finally stick. What is stored is the delta from the derived number, so a wound to the soul keeps its size when a later level raises the base underneath it.
  • The appearance section takes a write-in on every line, on the sheet as well as at creation. A character built out of made-up lines used to read back as a blank section.
  • Player characters read as "Pim The Lightbearer" in the Actors sidebar, on the steading roster and on the speaker line in chat. Display only: the Actor keeps the bare name it was given.
  • No move on a sheet is invisible any more. A move dropped from another playbook's compendium lands in Learned Moves with its origin on the corner, and can be toggled off like any other.

Character creation and the first session

  • Finishing character creation files the character on the village roster without anyone having to drag them there.
  • The Ranger's Wide Wanderer rolls a random trait for each of the five neighbors, drawing from what the others are not already wearing.
  • The cross-playbook move list gets filter chips for the playbook a move came from, and both move lists now say so when a filter has emptied them.
  • Fixed: session zero's windows no longer open on top of each other, or over what a player is typing. Picking a second question on "Bonds & ties" no longer silently writes the previous pick back.

The map and the world

  • A village map pin opens what the party knows about that place. A "Places of Interest" journal joins the Chronicle folder, one player-readable page per lettered place, and the pins are visible to players at all now.
  • The art importer can build the poster-map Scenes from the single all-maps PDF, one page per map, with editable page numbers and a live preview of each.

Fixes and polish

  • Stonetop's own windows no longer come out half dark in a dark-mode world.
  • Chat cards are styled in the popped-out chat log too, not just the sidebar.
  • A long NPC name is fitted to its header instead of pushing the pronouns and traits out from under the portrait.
  • Radios sit level with their checkboxes in the create-follower and create-monster worksheets, and Create a Follower is painted in Stonetop's own blue.
  • Compendium packs keep one index between all their readers, which fixes cards going missing on Foundry v14.
