KAL Browser — Release Notes (v1.0.0)

Welcome to the official v1.0.0 release of KAL, the next-generation productivity browser. This release marks our transition to a fully branded, distribution-ready platform with a focus on speed, style, and professional deployment.

🎨 New Visual Identity: The "K" Standard

We have completely redefined the browser's aesthetic to match a premium "Pro" feel.

  • Stylized 'K' Logo: Introduced our new high-fidelity logo featuring a bold italicized weight and an organic "leaf" swoosh, representing growth and flow.
  • Full Branding Suite: Correctly mapped high-resolution .ico and .png assets across the Windows Taskbar, Favicon, and Installer.
  • Clean UI Layout: Optimized the top-bar architecture using a high-performance horizontal flexbox system.

📦 Distribution & Deployment

We've overhauled the build pipeline to ensure KAL can be installed everywhere, from home PCs to restricted corporate environments.

  • Professional Setup (NSIS): A standard Windows Setup.exe that now supports Custom Installation Directories and automatic Desktop/Start Menu shortcuts.
  • Portable Edition: A standalone ZIP package (KAL_Browser_v1.0.0.zip) for zero-installation use.
  • Self-Healing Build Script: Updated build_installer.bat with proactive Administrative privilege checks to prevent build failures.

🛠️ Core Enhancements

  • Integrated Snapshotting: "Take Snapshot" functionality is now secondary-integrated into the active address bar for rapid productivity.
  • Frameless Optimization: Refined window controls and drag-capabilities for a seamless "OS-Native" feel.
  • Performance: Debounced window resizing and view bounds updates to minimize CPU overhead.

🚀 Getting Started

  1. Developer Run: npm start
  2. Build Release: Run build_installer.bat and choose Option [1] for the Setup.exe or Option [2] for the Portable ZIP.

Developed with precision for the next generation of power users.
