Welcome to the Most Wickets project โ a data analysis deep dive into the world of legendary cricket bowlers! ๐ง ๐
Using Python and powerful libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Seaborn, we explored performance metrics of some of the greatest bowlers in cricket history.
This project focuses on answering key analytical questions about top bowlers by analyzing a dataset containing career stats such as:
- Matches Played (Mat)
- Innings Bowled (Inns)
- Balls Bowled
- Runs Conceded
- Wickets Taken (Wkts)
- Best Bowling Figures in Innings (BBI) & Match (BBM)
- Bowling Average (Ave)
- Economy Rate (Econ)
- Strike Rate (SR)
- 5 & 10 Wicket Hauls
- Career Span
We used pandas for data handling, seaborn & matplotlib for beautiful visualizations, and numpy for numerical operations.
Here are the questions we explored and solved during the analysis:
- ๐ฅ Which player has the best bowling average (Ave)?
- ๐ฏ Who has the highest number of wickets in their career?
- ๐ธ Which player has the best economy rate (Econ)?
- ๐งฎ Comparison of strike rates (SR) of players with more than 100 matches.
- ๐ฅ Who has the best bowling figures in an innings (BBI) and match (BBM)?
- ๐ฐ๏ธ Which player has the longest career span?
- ๐ Who has bowled the most balls in their career?
- ๐ฏ Who has the lowest average among players with at least 50 wickets?
- ๐๏ธ Who has the most 5-wicket hauls in the dataset?
- ๐ฏ Which players have taken more than 300 wickets?
- โญ Who has the best bowling performance in a single match (BBM)?
- ๐ How has economy rate (Econ) changed over different career spans?
- ๐ What is the correlation between matches played and wickets taken?
- ๐ Python 3
- ๐งฎ Pandas & NumPy
- ๐ Matplotlib & Seaborn
- ๐ป Jupyter Notebook
