Vectorless RAG v0.3.0
Version 0.3.0 completes the first bounded PageIndex v2 evaluation and hardens the retrieval, accounting, and operator workflows it exercised.
Highlights
- Completed the reviewed 120-case PageIndex v2 evaluation as a 1,080-trial experiment, with recorded metrics, accounting evidence, exclusions, and immutable artifact identities.
- Kept the evidence budget unchanged because the experiment found no consistent quality gain from larger windows.
- Added resumable concurrent evaluation, claim-level judging, deterministic reporting, atomic cost reservations, experiment ownership, and interrupted-owner recovery.
- Hardened PageIndex parsing for control characters, pageless tables of contents, continuation entries, large nodes, and sparse terminal sections.
- Tightened evidence routing, metadata constraints, guarded catalog SQL, hybrid retrieval, and citation requirements.
- Added operator commands for environment reconciliation, index freezing, evaluation execution and recovery, claim review, query-cost reporting, and provider-free PageIndex patch checks.
- Reconciled Compose and Helm provider-pricing settings and aligned all release metadata at v0.3.0.
Release status
This remains a source-only research prerelease for bounded pilots. It does not claim production stability, unattended full-corpus ingestion, OCR support, or a final vector-versus-PageIndex quality verdict.
See CHANGELOG.md for the complete change list.
Vectorless RAG v0.2.0
0.2.0, 2026-07-27
Version 0.2.0 publishes the repository under the MIT License as a source-only research preview.
Added
- TanStack Start operator console for chat, documents, ingestion, settings, scoped connection, appearance, and logout
- Encrypted HttpOnly browser session backed by FastAPI API-key validation
- Durable PDF ingestion, PageIndex v2 artifacts, catalog routing, page citations, usage accounting, and provider-state handling
- Docker Compose and Helm deployment surfaces
- Deterministic API, PostgreSQL integration, browser, deployment, image, and evaluation checks
- Atomic local environment initialization and indexed public documentation
Research-preview limitations
- The default gate permits 25 registered documents and keeps full-corpus ingestion disabled
- The frozen pilot has a $10 provider-cost ceiling
- DeepSeek-backed ingestion and chat incur external provider cost
- Optical character recognition, API-key lifecycle management, and an embedded PDF viewer are unavailable
- Full 537-document ingestion and a final vector-versus-PageIndex quality verdict remain outside this release
- The release contains source archives only
