What's changed

  • Probe 1 and Probe 2 remain the baseline entity set.
  • Probe 3 and Probe 4 now appear only after the controller reports those slot numbers, avoiding unused entities on two-port models.
  • Optional probes keep their stable slot-based entity IDs and remain available as Unknown during normal idle periods after discovery.
  • Documentation now describes model-aware probe support instead of a fixed four-probe contract.

Why

The Performer Deluxe/Premium Smart reporter in issue #24 confirmed that the model has two physical probe ports. Version 3.0.4 adapts the entity surface to the slots each controller actually reports while retaining support for controllers with Probe 3 and Probe 4.

Any probe entities you manually disabled remain disabled after the update.
