v3.15.15 — The trip card, in three areas
v3.15.15 — the trip card, in three areas
This release answers beta discussion #31.
What changes
- The summary card at the top of a trip is arranged in three areas: the trip (distance,
duration, and the total cost — now on its own line and the largest figure on the card), the
electricity, and the fuel on a range extender that burned something. Until now all of it was
one six-cell grid in which the petrol, the kilowatt-hours and the money were interleaved. - The litres and the L/100 km have their own area instead of being stacked under the kilowatt-hours,
and the generator's distance joins them — beside the petrol that produced it, still carrying
the line that says the count is a floor. It was a line inside the block at the foot of the card. - The empty
Avg consumptiontile is gone on a generator trip. That figure is withheld on
purpose: a consumption derived from the battery's charge level says nothing once the generator
refills the pack mid-drive. The label is no longer printed over a dash, and the electricity area
takes a single column rather than leaving an empty cell beside it. - A car with no tank keeps
Avg consumption,Energy usedandRegenas before and gains no
section headings: with one energy source there is nothing to tell apart. Its cost moves up with
everyone else's. - The block at the foot of the card still carries what lives nowhere else: battery and tank
start→end, the split between the kilowatt-hours paid for at a plug and those the generator
supplied, and the note on what the electric figure measures.
No figure is computed differently and none was dropped. This release moves numbers, it does not
change them.
What it does not add is the share of the distance driven on electricity against the generator,
which the same request asks for. There is no "generator on" signal in the vehicle cloud — all 89
were checked, and the best of them separates at 61% once the car is already moving. The generator's
kilometres are counted from the samples where the odometer rises and the fuel falls, so the stretches
where the odometer has not refreshed yet cannot be judged and land on the other side: the count is
short in one direction only, 54.0 km against the 60.2 a tester's own dashboard showed. Subtracting it
from the distance inherits all of that error, and over 32 real trips 8 of the remainders went to zero
or negative.
Local release verification passed 3,318 tests, with no skips. Eight of them pinned the old
arrangement and were rewritten around the same questions rather than removed: the generator's
distance must be legible rather than footnote type, neither fuel figure may be torn from its unit, a
car with no tank must gain no fuel line, and each of the figures that live in exactly one place must
still have one. The page was exercised in a browser against a demo container holding a real
range-extender trip rebuilt from a tester's diagnostics bundle — 112 km, 15.7 kWh metered, 0.82 L,
16.9 km with the generator — in both range-extender and battery-only mode, at a 375-pixel phone
width, with no horizontal scrolling and no untranslated key. No live vehicle-cloud command was sent.
Update and rollback
- Back up Mate using its existing backup feature before upgrading.
- Docker and Home Assistant use the normal image update while retaining the existing data volume.
- MateDesktop receives the payload through its existing updater; no new shell installer is needed.
- This release changes no database schema, stored data or MQTT entity and needs no migration.
- Rolling back to v3.15.14 requires no data conversion. The card returns to one grid.
Italiano
finivano a zero o sotto.
