unslop-windows v1.3.0

Removed

  • Third-Party Discord Startup Removal: Removed Discord startup entry cleanup from Section 14 in both unslop-win11.ps1 and unslop-win10.ps1. Discord startup suppression was originally added as a personal configuration choice by the me. As the repository grew, debloating was scoped strictly to Windows and Microsoft components rather than third-party desktop software.

Added

  • Granular Custom CLI Flags: Added 10 granular switches across both engines to give users control over individual components without modifying core scripts:
    • -KeepSysMain: Preserves the SysMain (Superfetch) service. Recommended for mechanical hard drives and SATA SSD (with no DRAM Cache) storage setups where background caching prevents I/O thrashing.
    • -KeepSearch: Preserves the Windows Search indexer service (WSearch).
    • -KeepPhoneLink: Preserves the Phone Link app (Microsoft.YourPhone) and cross-device sync services (CrossDeviceResumeHost, Connected Devices Platform and CDP firewall rules).
    • -KeepMail: Preserves Outlook / Mail and Calendar apps (Microsoft.OutlookForWindows and Microsoft.WindowsCommunicationsApps).
    • -KeepClock: Preserves the Windows Clock and Alarms app (Microsoft.WindowsAlarms) on Windows 10.
    • -KeepSpotify: Preserves pre-installed Spotify app (SpotifyAB.SpotifyMusic).
    • -KeepStoreAutoUpdate: Preserves Microsoft Store automatic background app updates (AutoDownload = 4).
    • -LeftTaskbar: Sets Windows 11 taskbar alignment to the left (TaskbarAl = 0).
    • -ExcludeWUDrivers: Prevents Windows Update from installing hardware driver updates (ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate = 1).
    • -KeepDefenderDefaults: Preserves default Microsoft Defender sample submission settings (SubmitSamplesConsent = 1).
  • Interactive Batch Custom Flags Menu (unslop.bat): Added Option [7] Custom CLI Flags to unslop.bat, allowing users to enter custom parameter strings interactively while keeping Option [4] lean.
  • Unit and Parameter Tests: Added unit tests covering -KeepSysMain, -KeepSearch, -KeepPhoneLink and -KeepClock across tests/unslop-win11.Tests.ps1 and tests/unslop-win10.Tests.ps1, replacing legacy Discord mocks with generic startup test mocks.
  • Architectural Decision Record (docs/decisions.md): Documented ADR-026 detailing third-party scope correction, -KeepSysMain and custom CLI flags architecture.

Changed

  • Batch CLI Argument Whitelist (unslop.bat): Expanded the headless parameter whitelist in unslop.bat to support all 10 new flags for direct command-line execution.

Quick Installation & Usage

  1. Download unslop-windows-v1.3.0.zip from Assets below.
  2. Extract the archive to any directory.
  3. Right-click unslop.bat and choose Run as administrator (or double-click and accept the UAC elevation prompt).
  4. Select your operating system from the selection menu:
    • [1] Windows 11: Targets 25H2, 24H2, 23H2, 22H2, 21H2 (runs unslop-win11.ps1).
    • [2] Windows 10: Targets 22H2, 21H2, 20H2, Enterprise LTSC, Builds 10240-19045 (runs unslop-win10.ps1).
    • [0] Exit: Close the launcher.
  5. Choose an option from the OS feature menu:
    • [1] Full Debloat: Remove OneDrive, telemetry and provisioned bloatware.
    • [2] Gamer Preset: Debloat, keep Xbox & Gaming Services (-KeepXbox).
    • [3] Productivity Preset: Debloat, keep OneDrive & Microsoft To-Do (-KeepOneDrive -KeepTodos).
    • [4] Interactive Toggles: Configure custom feature combinations with visual toggle states.
    • [5] Safe Dry-Run Audit: Inspect all changes safely with zero system modifications (-DryRun).
    • [6] Full Restore / Undo: Symmetrically revert all tweaks back to defaults (-Undo).
    • [7] Custom CLI Flags: Manually enter parameter switches (e.g. -KeepTodos -KeepXbox -NoRestart).
    • [8] Back to OS Selection: Return to the main OS choice screen.
    • [0] Exit: Close the launcher.
