Preview release. This build is for testing.

Preview release for testing ahead of 1.0.0.

Added

  • Strategy Properties tab for editing backtest settings alongside script inputs.
  • Bundled PyneCore documentation, available through the Documentation menu.
  • GitHub release workflow with version checks, cross-platform environment
tests and a downloadable VSIX attached to a draft release.
  • Remove Environment. The status bar menu (and the PyneIDE: Remove Environment command) now deletes what PyneIDE downloaded — the Python
environment with its installed plugins, and optionally the Pine language
server — after showing how much each one takes. Until now the only way out
was a clean reinstall, and uninstalling the extension left the whole
environment on disk. Reveal Environment Folder opens that location in the
    file manager.

Changed

  • PyneCore pin 6.7.0 → 6.10.10. The managed environment installs the newer
release, and an own install older than it is no longer accepted: 6.7.x wrote
the v2 OHLCV format through POSIX-only os.pread/os.pwrite, so every data
download and the demo data generator failed on Windows. The debugger follows
two runtime changes of the releases in between: a state vector now carries its
own slot layout (Locals and Watch read it from there), and a Pine int is a
double at runtime, so the Pyne scope converts bar_index and time back to
integers instead of showing 0.0 and losing the derived datetime row.
  • Pyne Edge profile 2026.09.2: in / not in are now allowed. Membership
    in a tuple or list of same-typed constants is a chain of exact equalities;
the compiler enforces the element-type homogeneity.
  • Pyne Edge profile 2026.09.1: assert is now allowed in Edge scripts. A
failed assertion ends the run on every runtime, so it costs one comparison
and nothing to port; the message, when given, must be a string literal
    (pyne-edge-assert otherwise).

Fixed

  • Debugger inspection and paused charts. Clearer series-history errors,
filtered internal variables, Pine call stacks, value formatting and Locals
ordering, plus a marker showing the paused bar on the chart.
  • Run preparation and chart state. Fixes for settings saves, persisted plot
rendering, chart legends, layer controls and initial data selection.
  • No type errors for a float in an int slot. A Pine int is a double at
runtime, and Pine types int / int as an int while Python types it as a
float, so valid Pyne code such as ta.wma(src, length / 2), count: int = total / 2 or for i in range(n / 2) was flagged by the bundled pyright. In
@pyne documents these reports are now dropped when the only failure is a
float where an int (or an optional int) is expected; a container mismatch
    (list[float] into list[int]), a non-number and a subscript index still
    report.

Installation

Download pyneide-0.9.0.vsix below, then run Extensions: Install from VSIX… in VS Code.

VSIX installations do not update automatically. Install each new build manually.
