What's new in 2.0

  • Updated to Manifest V3 for ongoing Firefox compatibility.
  • Smarter tab switching: with several ProtonMail tabs open, the button jumps to the most recently used one and focuses its window.
  • More precise tab matching — only ever switches to a genuine mail.proton.me tab.
  • Reduced permissions: no more broad access. Asks for mail.proton.me only, and only the first time you use it (to detect an already-open tab).
  • Optional keyboard shortcut — assign your own in about:addons → gear → Manage Extension Shortcuts.
  • On first install, ProtonMail opens automatically instead of showing a notification.
